The Ca' Sagredo is an excellent hotel with a great location on the Grand Canal just a few minutes from the Rialto bridge and a 15 minute walk to the Piazzo San Marco. There is a Vaporetto stop just outside as well as a Traghetto and Gondala stop just outside. here are also local amenities and great cafes and restaurants...

We arrived very late sunday evening and received a very warm welcome. Our room was lovely, authentic and spacious. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious. I do begrudge paying €5 for some crisps from the mini bar and €6 for a can of pop, however there is a shop right round the corner so...

We stayed in Ca'Sagredo 3 nights in February 2017. Weather was quite rainy so we spent quite time in the hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful palazzo is in excellent condition, the rooms are spacious and well decorated. Yet the quality service was probably the most important aspect of our stay - everybody around talked us with a...

The rooms were INCREDIBLE! they were all furnished and done up very nicely! I loved my stay here. The dining room was replicated and the copy is in the Met in New York! It's an incredible hotel, great staff, really willing to help all the time. Loved my stay!

Beautiful and historic building. Service with a smile: staff always kind. Great location: right beside a gondola station and water bus station. Wonderful frescos and decorations inside the hotel. Luxurious rooms

A lovely unique hotel right in the heart of the city with views onto the Grand Canal. This lovely Palazzo has sumptuous public rooms with wide staircases and beautiful murals everywhere. Close proximity to all main tourist attractions and shops. A well deserving five star hotel with spacious comfortable well equipped guest rooms. Breakfast excellent but slightly disappointed with dinner,...

I agree entirely with the comments in the review by Judy F on 14th December 2016. This is a lovely hotel, with pleasant staff and a great location. We have just returned from our regular break in Venice, having stayed in the hotel; we have been to the hotel before and shall certainly stay there again.

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in March for our friend's wedding, which was absolutely magical. I have mixed feelings about this hotel though. This is not the kind of hotel that I would usually book preferring more modern/boutique/design hotels, but we thought that as we were in Venice a more traditional style would be the best option...

We stayed in the library room and it was just beautiful. Felt so opulent and special. We also ate in the hotel on Valentine's Day evening and had such a romantic meal in the large hall just outside our room with only a handful of other couples. We don't see any of the other rooms but based on our stay...

Dear Guests, thank you so much for your feedback. We are happy to know you appreciated one of our most beautiful suites, the Library Suite, which has a huge historic value, being the Hotel National Monument protected by the Italian Fine Arts. Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
