Most amazing hotel I have ever been to! Very clean and amazing staff. Very classy boutique hotel right on the water. Hard to find at the beginning but once u find it then it will be very easy to spot. Venice is a little confusing for first timers but beautiful beautiful place

I would highly recommend Hotel Becher following a fantastic stay here last week. The hotel was easily located and within a few minutes walking distance from Saint Marks Square. The hotel had also a private jetty which was where we were picked up from in our private water taxi and taken to the airport. This was arranged by the hotel....

Great location - close to everything but on a charming little street near shops and a lovely little bridge. Staff was very helpful and helped us by giving directions to where we wanted to go. Great breakfast though breakfast room a little tight. A perfect introduction to Venice

My hubby and I (mid-40's) arrived to Venice via cruise ship after 14 days of exploring Rome, Amalfi, Sicily, the Greek Isles, and the Dalmatian Coast. This was our first trip ever to Europe, and boy what an adventure it was! So we disembarked our ship on the last day of our cruise and then spent 3 nights at the...

Stayed here in the "family room", expecting two adjoining rooms as per the other reviews. We were shown to one room with two extra beds, which would only be fine if you were traveling with small children, otherwise it is a squeeze. I asked the hotel to book transfers from the airport and they told me it was €150 for...

Lovely small hotel just a few hundred metres from St Marks Square. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The family room that we had (adjoining double and single rooms, each with en suite bathrooms) was small but comfortable. The included breakfast buffet was extensive (the pear and chocolate tart was delicious!) but be aware that the downstairs dining room...

The staff at the hotel made our stay very pleasant! And the location is excellent! Quiet and close to many major sites and also right on the canals. We stayed with 2 children (10 & 5) and had plenty of room in their family room.

My husband and I traveled to Venice this month. We stayed for 3 nights in Hotel Becher. This hotel ticked all the boxes for us. We loved that it is within walking distance to all major attractions. St. Mark Square, St. Mark's Basilica and Doge's Palace are within a 5-minute walk from the Hotel. The Grand Canal and Santa Maria...

Wonderful staff - I had a problem with some travel documents and they couldn't be more helpful. Terrific location and easy walk to everywhere - just beautiful. Small and elegant. A sense of luxury without ostentation. Firm beds. Expansive breakfast.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
