Situated a 5 minute water taxi ride from the centre of Venice; the hotel runs it's own free water taxi service between it and it's sister hotel very near St Marks Square which is brilliant. The hotel is sitauted on the island of Guidecca which is quiet; a nice oasis of calm after the hoards of 'Venice propper' Most of...

We only stayed one night while preparing to embark on a cruise the following day, but I fell in love with this hotel and will be back. It is a beautiful little hotel, a converted convent, with an absolutely amazing garden. This place was beautiful, the entire hotel was well appointed, well staffed and well taken care of. Pros: Staff:...

We had a great spacious room over looking the canal. The bed was soft and a nice large bath room. The staff was friendly and they provided a water taxi over to the sister hotel on the canal. It was great. We would stay there again.

We chose Palladio online and have just spent four very happy days there. The location on Giudicca was superb - a five minute private boat ride from St Mark's square. Great to be just a little removed from the tourist hordes. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was spacious and very comfortable. All the staff were friendly and...

Great location, beautiful lobby, nice garden, helpful staff….this was great The room was disappointing : standard modern room with no charm at all, dark –few natural light, with a brown ceiling, several hours needed to heat the room, this room was a place where you don’t feel like staying, which was disappointing considering this hotel is rated five stars !!!!????...

It's hard to find such a beautiful hotel in Venice and I have seen quite some. Location is great with a boat that brings you to piazza san marco every half an hour . the trip just takes a couple of minutes. The garden and the atmosphere is amazing. Rooms large and well designed. REally a beauty. Service is very...

We were booked into this hotel by Readers Offers following a 6 star cruise with Seabourn. What a culture shock! We came from an environment where anything you wanted was provided to a hotel where it appeared that they would love it if they didn't have to have guests. First the good stuff. The hotel itself is beautiful. Across the...

We were delighted with our stay - and the upgrade to a suite which made us feel very special. (It was our Silver wedding celebration but the upgrade was coincidence) . Bathroom was immense - views of the natural garden were delightful and breakfast was plentiful. As has been said this is a former convent so the decor reflects the...

Hotel fantastic ! Room amazing, junior suite. Only problem is service in the bar / restaurant, for such a wonderful hotel I ordered a glass of wine and a hot chocolate for my wife. We sat in the relaxing garden for 15/20 minutes to no avail, after a gentle reminder our drinks arrived. I expect to wait for a reasonable...

Staying in Giudecca

Neighbourhood Profile
Giudecca
Giudecca is a retreat for Venetians away from the crowds. Symbolically, six metal teeth represent Venice’s six sestieri (districts); the seventh, Guidecca, points away from the others – part of Dorsoduro, but separated by the Giudecca Canal. Giudecca evolved from a center of shipyards and factories to a quiet residential area with a sprinkling of restaurants and bars. The majestic harmonious Redentore church stands as thanks for delivering Venice from the plague, hosting an annual heartfelt festival.
