Everything was perfect about our short stay in Venice. The room was clean and the heat worked well. We had trouble with this in other hotels in Italy. The shower was great and the bathroom clean. The double bed was two small beds pushed together...More

Alloggi Santa Sofia is a small hotel in the Cannaregio area and is less than 5 minutes walk to the Ca D'oro water station. If you can figure your way around Venice or don't mind getting lost it is actually not that far to walk...More

Good price for Venice. Decent location although a bit of a hike from the train station on foot (not bad without bags but a bit annoying with a lot of stuff). Small but clean rooms. Great coffee for breakfast. Otherwise pretty bare bones (although expected...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
