This boutique hotel is wonderful throughout. Their on site parking is the cheapest in Venice, and has a very personalised service. The rooms are warm, very clean and comfortable. The staff will greet you kindly every day, and a complete all-included breakfast buffet is presented every morning. Overall, a 10/10.

Te restaurant was convenient for the night before the cruise as it is across the street from the people mover to the port and it's also near where the bus from the airport drops off, so convenient with luggage. The breakfast was typical continental help yourself but had decent variety. Our room was large with a comfortable bed for my...

This little hotel is very close to the parkings at the entrance to Venice. This means you get there, walk a bit if you come by train or park right in the hotel if you come by car. This is a big advantage in Venice since otherwise you have to carry your luggage around until you get to your place,...

I gave this hotel an extra star for its location. It is literally a few yards away from the bus terminal, the people mover and the vaporettos (water buses). The hotel is old but quaint. Our room was situated on the first level but in Europe it means the second floor so if you have mobility issues, this is not...

Stayed at this Hotel for 2 nights prior to a Cruise. Great rooms (no lift) nothing fancy but clean and the bed was very comfortable. Great breakfast included. Just a short walk to the glass bridge and all of the sights of Venice. Catch the shuttle bus from the Airport and the Hotel is right where the bus stop and...

The hotel is convenient for all transportation needs in Venice. You can arrive at the airport, take public transit to the bus terminal directly in front of the hotel, walk or take a water taxi to any place in Venice or walk to the People Mover to the cruise terminal. Rooms are comfortable.

The reason we chose CA doge is because of their convenient private carpark. It was the right choice. The hotel itself wasn't impressive. Room was old and small, they seemed to have renovated the bathroom though, which was nice and clean. It was safe despite its location being in the main area of carpark and bus station. I would recommend...

The Room Clever Voyage stayed 1 night in a Junior Suite on the 2nd floor booked through Venere.com, which was the best deal for our August arrival. Venice on the whole is very expensive and even more so during peak seasons including July-September. The room has a King bed and fold out double sofa bed that fit 4 adults comfortably,...

We have had the pleasure of vising Venice for seven years in a row ... and have stayed with the great folks at Ca Doge every year ... cannot imagine staying anywhere else. The location is ideal (especially if you have a rental car), the facilities are very nice and clean, the food (breakfast) is great, and the staff is...

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
