We were given a warm welcome from Roberto when we arrived and he kindly walked us to the apartment, making sure to show us where all the nearest shops, etc. were. Once in the apartment he took us on a quick tour and showed us where everything was. The facilities were great, they had everything we needed - fast wifi,...

We stayed in their apartment for 3 nights. Marina and Roberto were very helpful from the beginning (sent us perfect description how to get there). The apartment is in a pretty good location, walking distance to many sights. Towels were provided, everything was clean :) We felt very safe in the area and had a wonderful vacation! Our bus home...

A delightful and practical self contained apartment in an interesting area away from the tourist masses, but close to good restaurants and shops on Via Garibaldi and the Giardini water bus stop. A lovely place to stay with warm and friendly hosts. Highly recommended if you don't want something fancy and expensive.

We stayed for 3 nights in Roberto and Marina's lovely private apartment just around the corner from their home (i.e. not the attic room). It was so lovely to stay in an area where Venetians actually still live! It was really quiet and a world away from the crowds of Piazza San Marco. We were more than happy with the...

At the beginning we were a bit hesitating because not everybody wrote a positive review about Roberto and Marinas place. This B&B called Bed and Breakfast Giardini is definitely a very good choice for your trip to Venice. My two daughters and I came here in October 2016 to spend a week. Beeing on our first trip to Venice we...

We stayed in the separate apartment down the street. The apartment itself was clean, well-lit, and the perfect size for a couple. It has a small, pleasant balcony facing the tops of the buildings across the street. We dealt with Roberto, who was friendly, helpful, and responsive, and recommended several nearby restaurants that attract a local crowd. The neighborhood itself...

My friends and I stayed at the apartment. Excellent reception, with Roberto and Marina available at any time! Very simple apartment, but very functional and clean. It is also recommended for its strategic position to visit the Biennale and San Marco. Near to Vaporetto station.

Very unpretentious place, in a superb location in the Biennale area of Venice. Great little BB situated in a very typical Venice apartment building. Stairs a bit steep and narrow to get to the apartment , but it simply adds to the charm. As I mentioned the site is amazing, the B&B is located super nice with many cafes and...

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
