Lovely B&B near train station and main bus terminal. Venice is a difficult place to haul luggage through so having such a close location to transportation in and out of the city is key, unless you are all about dragging luggage over bridges and up and down stairs. Breakfast was nice but could have been more hearty; included croissant, jams,...

We chose this small bed & breakfast as it was close to the cruise ship terminal. It was very nice to stay in the heart of Venice, but this location has its problems. Transportation from the Venice airport was very easy via the tourist buses, and drops you off right at Piazza Roma, which is 'only' a 1000 ft. walk...

I agree with all the previous reviews that the location is the selling point for this B&B. Having not been to Venice since childhood (it is an absolute maze!) to be able to be in your room within 5 minutes of arriving at the bus station is wonderful. Set back in a side street it is quiet - my single...

I made a reservation through booking.com and the price was the best that we could find for 2 adults and a 4yo in Venice. We were coming in on a bus from the airport and going out on a cruise so the location was PERFECT. We got a little lost walking to the hotel, but this was my fault with...

Convenient for airport bus, comfortable and in a quiet back street. Staff are honest and very helpful. Train station quite close Don't eat in Las Ramblas over the street which has cover change, service charge and rip off drinks.

Excellent location if you are on a cruise or need to be near rail or road transport. It's also close to one of the major water bus terminals and the bus station so there are a number of options when travelling from the airport. I can recommend the land shuttle bus as it's quick, very easy and relatively cheap. From...

We researched Venice properties before booking and had stayed at another hotel and this was the best value for money. Venice can be confusing for new arrivals but if when leaving Pizza Roma if you keep Hotel Arlecchino in your sight and head straight towards it and make a right on the first street past Hotel Arlecchino you will find...

I stayed at this small hotel two nights pre cruise after finding a review saying it was only one bridge to cross from the Piazzele Roma. At the time, I didn't know what that meant, but I booked it anyway. This is HUGELY important.. when you are lugging your suitcases over the bridge from the bus and don't realize that...

This place was perfect for us. We came in by train, and it was about a 10-15 minute walk from the train station. It's also a little outside of the hussle and bussle around the train station and the grand canal, making it quiet during the evening. The hotel is located down a beautiful street that is still very close...

This small hotel is close to the train station and set back in a quiet paved street. Very easy to get to the main vaparetto stop making travel around this wonderful city very easy. Our room was quiet and clean with it's own small yard. A nice continental breakfast was available each morning from 7:30 which if the weather was...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
