The location is excellent but that was the only good thing. The room was the tiniest room I have stayed in. There no place to place even your tooth brush and the shaving blades and foam. The soaps that they give out are the tiniest I have seen and if they fall when you shower it is difficult to pick...

We were very happy that we found this place on Travelocity. Venice is expensive but this place has everything you need: walking distance to the train or airport bus. very close to water taxi and there many interesting places around it. It is quite, good breakfast was served in the room, people were extremely friendly. Perfect place for the price....

Fairly plain budget hotel located right close to a water taxi pickup point. We stayed the night before our cruise, and found it just as easy to walk the 20 minutes with our bags to the people mover. As for the hotel, its dated, the rooms are super dated and have no form of style really to them (maybe old,...

We stayed a single night in this B&B and found it just right for our needs. We were given a ground floor room off of a small court which was peaceful and nicely shaded. Desk (owner?) was very friendly and helpful. The room itself was clean, roomy(ish) and air conditioned. We echo the comments of many other reviews regarding the...

This is a very small quant little hotel. Great staff and very easy to get to and from. Vaporetto access is about a block away. Wifi is solid. Breakfast is out in a little garden/patio area, somewhat limited but decent. Family room is nice and big. Overall a definitely nice place to stay in Venice.

Michelle working the desk in the evenings is super friendly and talkative. But he's a Venician local so know everything you'll need to know. The rooms are overall clean, though get a bit stuffy. Breakfast is simple breads and coffees. I always supplemented with leftover pizza.

This is a nice small, comfortable, italian Hotel. Slightly hard to find as its down a side street around a corner. Like most of the reviews on here. The young guy on reception was very helpful, when we checked in. Too the point where I had to kindly hint we were only staying for one night (Cruise the next day)...

This hotel is 10 minutes walkable distance from the main railway station and 15 minutes from people mover. You have 1 or 2 boat stations 5 minutes from this hotel. We payed around 100 euros per night and that's the average ( or the least ) you need to pay in Venice for a decent place. The room was modern....

Lovely quaint room with excellent air conditioning which was great as it was very hot. The receptionist (sorry can't remember his name) was very helpful. Was location away from the busier area which was perfect- wasn't a long walk anyway to the hustle and bustle.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
