We loved this little B & B! Davide greeted us and carried our luggage up the 1 set of stairs. He was charming, helpful but not intrusive and we absolutely loved staying there. We had a beautiful view of a canal and bridge from 3 windows. The large room and large bath (with a tub!) was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was...

Read reviews on this b&b, and was very hopeful that it would be good. All my apprehensions were for naught. The place is easy to find. It is away from the hustle and bustle of the more tourist areas, so it is very quiet. The breakfast in the morning was quite nice and plentiful. The rooms were spacious, and the...

Small B&B hotel. We had a lovely room with a four poster bed. The hotel is a couple of minutes from the main street through Cannaregio another minute or so gets you to Ca' d'Oro vaporetto stop. A good breakfast and delightful staff.

Nice quiet clean and easy to find, Easy walking distance to everything Imagine sitting at your window sipping a coffee listing to the sounds of a gonadal whispering past with the soft voices of child's laugh far off in the distance. We stayed in the attic room with a balcony we could have not found a better place.

We booked our room after reading other people's reviews. We were not disappointed. A large, traditionally-decorated, air-conditioned room, with 3 windows overlooking the canal, lovely large bathroom and added bonuses of a kettle and a fridge in the room. Very convenient for vaporetto stops , two that are less than 5 minutes walk away, peaceful at night but within easy...

I loved staying here and this morning while planning a re visit I decided to look at my last review, it's nowhere to be found. So for the benefit of others I will review again. I found this B and B on the Elizabeth Minchelli eat Italy app. I normally like to find a 4 / 5 star hotel for...

Our stay was delightful. Clean room, nice breakfast, great location, and David was a excellent host with great recommendations for places to eat. Al Palazezetto was easy to find and close to the water taxi to the airport. We would defiantly say their again.

This is my second time at Al Palazzetto (and my fourth time in Venice) and I was not disappointed. I wish I had known of this place on my first stay. It is located at CA' D'ORO within a minute walk from the B&B. It is located at a less crowded area than others yet within 5 minute walk to...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
My home is to be found in the sestiere di Cannaregio, very close to the Ca' d'Oro palace, in an extremely central, yet peaceful area. The palace where I live dates back to the 1700's and reflects characteristic Venetian taste: period furniture, damask materials, Venetian flooring and with a magnificent facade overlooking a typical Venetian canal, the Rio di Santa Sofia. ... more   less
