We stayed at Al Palazzetto for 2 nights during our 2 month Italy holiday. The room was reasonably priced (for Venice standards especially during Venice Biennale ), was in a great location easily accessible to all major sites & a water bus stop. It was...More

My husband and I stayed here earlier this week. Venice was our last stop on a 2.5 week trip through Italy where we stayed in five different hotels. Al Palazzetto was our least favorite as we felt it was very overpriced for the room we...More

Al Palazzetto is in a lovely old building (I think the owner told me it was 380 years old). In a quiet neighborhood, very close to the Ca' D'oro and the Strada Nova shops. If you need something from the pharmacy or grocery store, it's...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district)
with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many
transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying
areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand
for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal
bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution,
2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli
Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
