My wife and me call this place home because it really offers us homelike atmosphere and comfort. The owners are very helpful explaining to us the history and resorts of the city, and the complimentary breakfast was a hearty welcome to travelers. This homely feeling is one of our best memories of Italy.

We really enjoyed our stay. A lovely place, very welcoming clean and above expectation. Esmerelda was a gracious and informative host with invaluable information. We can't wait to return. Breakfast was lovely and the shower had good pressure.

While Esmerelda was extremely helpful and friendly, I feel there was a lack of communication from her in relation to the ongoing repairs/works on the adjoining building. The location was good, with close proximity to all interests and sites. The breakfasts however were minimalist.

Mario & Esmeralda were warm and welcoming hosts. As with most rooms in Europe, the space was small but adequate. We found the bed to be a bit hard and uncomfortable. The morning breakfast was nice with fresh pastries, yogurt, and fruit. Skip the coffee.

Great B&B in the middle of Venice. Beautiful house and room. Mario offered the ultimate service. We had stayed at 2 different hotels in our 10 days stay in Italy and he made the difference. From picking us up from the boat station, to providing us with insightful information about the area and what places to visit to a delicious...

This B&B is great value in Venice. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. The breakfast is basic but good (croissants, bread rolls, jam, yoghurt, tea/coffee/hot chocolate, juice). The location is good, and easy walking distance to most places. The family who run it are very helpful. The B&B can be a bit hard to find (like lots of hotels in...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our Bed & Breakfast finds itself in the center of Venice, 5 minutes walking from the famous Rialto bridge, and 15 minutes walking from Piazza San Marco. We are close to the main fish market place where there is a public transport gondola service which enables everyone to cross the Grand Canal for 2 euros per person. Our home is located in one of the oldest areas of Venice, where most houses are from the 13th century. Indeed Venetians used to leave originally in Torcello island, and then decided from the 8th century to move from the island of Torcello, more exposed to the Barbars invasions, to settle in the current Rialto area. Esmeralda and Mario, the owners who personally attend all guests during check-in, check-out and breakfast time, will answer all your questions and help you take most advantage of your stay in Venice. ... more   less
