This is the worst hotel I have ever encountered, customer service is appalling, they are only interested in taking your money and getting nothing back in return. I would rather sleep on the streets than go to this hotel, do not waste your money.
the hotel is very far from the canal, they close early, you need to walk with your bags from the canal to reach the hotel , but there is small restaurant in front of the hotel, there is many other hotels in front of canal...More
Rude staff at check in. Unclean blankets. Plaster falling from the ceilings onto the bed. One bathroom for six, 2 person rooms made for a rather competitive shower situation in the morning. Additionally, shower was in the same room as the only toilet in the...More
Great location, right next to the train station. However, the wifi never worked, there was no shower gel provided, the towels were bed sheets, there was no room cleaning (floor, sheets, towels) done during the day despite the heat and the AC was so loud...More

Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture
universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
