Lion Morosini Palace is located in the historic center of Venice, in a quiet location just a few minutes from the Rialto Bridge, excellent location for visiting Venice on foot or by boat (the closest stop is only 2 minutes :-), convenient to visit the main monuments and the main shopping streets. We offer free luggage storage, room air conditioning, desk information: Murano Burano Torcello tour as well as concerts, ballets and shows

No on site receptionist. No washcloths. No glasses. Empty refrigerator. Hot, air barely worked. No elevator. 40 stairs up to room. Worse place I have ever stayed. Lucky only had a one night stay. Would give a zero if that was an option.

My teenage daughter and I travelled to Venice for the first time with friends. We chose the Lion Morosini Palace based on reviews and we weren't disappointed. Our family room with private bathroom was very close to the Rialto Bridge and lots of shops, restaurants, bars etc. The room was very clean, warm and comfortable and to be woken by the sound of Gondalas gently swooshing by below our balcony window was just wonderful. We were even woken by a singing Gondolier one morning! Davide was so helpful and accommodating, he even booked our private river taxi from the airport, which stopped at a jetty literally steps from the hotel entrance. We landed late in the evening and the taxi was a blessing, not knowing the waterways/street layout at all. Thank you Davide and team for a wonderful stay! We will be back!…

The hotel Is located in the best part of Venice. Walking distance from Rialto Bridge and Ca’Do’Ro. San Marco is at 15 min walk. 5 min distance walk. We had a beautiful room with Gran Canal View. Even if it is located in the most crowded aerea of the city, the hotel and rooms are very quiet. The staff was very kind and assisted us with all of our questions and needs.

Stayed here for a 3 night break in Venice. The rooms are basic and clean with air conditioning which is a must. Great location central to all the sights not far from the Rialto bridge. Be sure to follow the directions provided when you’ve booked otherwise you’d struggle to find it at first and google maps really does struggle in Venice! Be advised that the rooms require a climb of quite a few stairs. The staff are very friendly and helpful. If you’re just looking for a cheap clean no frills base to explore Venice this is ideal.

I spent two nights in this hotel last June. The view was nice...but the hotel is very old and need to be repared!! And the worst is that they stole me money I paid the two night by cash. Meanwhile, back to France, I discovered that the hotel charged me 50 euros on my credit card. With no reason! The manager told me that there was a problem with his bank! His promised to give my money back. His explanation was everithing but clear! Finally, I never got my money back. I have been travelling for 25 years and I never saw that before. I call that"to be stolen". That is a scandal!

This is our second time here. The location is great. The room doors have been replaced. Otherwise, it looks the same as two years ago. We had missed their breakfast which we like a lot. But they don't offer breakfast anymore. You have to carry the luggage up the stairs. During check in, you might get some help. It is nice hotel and if you don't mind breakfast, this is for you.

Stayed here for two nights and had no complaints, check in and staff were polite and friendly, room and beds were very comfortable, bathroom was very nice and spacious, not too far a walk from the main amenities which was also good, little hard to find at first but remember you’re in the alleyway near Burger King if you ever need a checkpoint! Would stay again!

We arrived at venice around 8pm, so in a rush we tried to reach the place. Venice alley are dim-light, and we easily lost in orientation, especially when the place in tucked in some alley and we've never been there. Once we arrived, feels like it was already past midnite, it was so quiet. The owner said that we can not make any noise. (it was juts like 8.30pm!) So after we dropped our bag, we headed outside cause our tummy were growling. and almost no food establishment open unless it the overprice cafe by the canale. After some lurking around in and out some alley, we managed to grab a crepes joing that almost closed but we're able to order, after our order finish, we saw there were already enough line behind our back. I guess the patron need to open longer :D So we get back to the hotel. It was decent enough, but if you have more money to spend, just go somewhere else more upscale. Breakfast was also basic, but at least it was enough to give some base energy to stroll the water city.…

when you have just arrived in Venice having taken the plane, then the vaporreto to the nearest stop of the hotel, to finally arrive at the hotel, do not think that you will finally be able to rest . you will need more strength to walk and with all your luggage the 2 floors that lead to the rooms. Of course, if you are handicapped, you are banished from this hotel. it's completely discriminatory. if you come across room 7, you will have to live in a box with a roof that almost touches your head and a bathroom where there is no space. moreover, with 35 degrees outside, you will not be able to cool off because the air conditioning does not work. so we asked very nicely if it was possible for us to change rooms. We were criticized for not giving our time of arrival. if we did, then they could have turned on the air conditioning before we arrived. what would it be used for since it did not work? they wanted to blame us because they knew they had made a mistake. the employee told us that they did a mistake but not the boss. so we moved to a larger room but with the bathroom outside. you must go out of your room to go to the bathroom during the night. the walls are extremely thin. we could enjoy all the conversations of our neighbors. terrible experience in this horrible hotel.…

Response from palazzolionmorosini, Proprietario at Lion Morosini Palace
Responded 1 Oct 2018
It is clearly written when you book (and even in the photographs you can see) the stairs....in addition to writing in the e-mail we send before arrival : "The entrance of Palazzo Lion Morosini it's in the passageway (sottoportico)"to the right. Address : Al Palazzo Lion Morosini Sotoportego del Remer 5700 RECEPTION IS on the GROUND FLOOR! The rooms are at First and Second floor, and so there will be stairs to go in the room, we do not have elevator, we want to specify it)"... This is not a guesthouse suitable for those with mobility problems....like most of Venice's structures. Venice it's an city where you walk. you can not expect that there are elevators they are historical and delicate palaces. the phrase: "it's completely discriminatory."....you are in Italy, not all the museums, hotels have an elevator....Does the Basilica of San Marco have an elevator? for you in Venice all the roads are passable? or all the bridges? in addition, you have booked a compact economy double room....There are photographs to make you understand the size of the room you booked....besides the meters are written We wrote several emails and contacted booking.com to know your arrival time and you never answered; I did not tell you anything when you arrived because you were tired ( in the mail there was written the precise directions to find us and .... PLEASE, COULD YOU TELL US YOUR ESTIMATED ARRIVAL TIME? we remind that our Reception IS NOT OPEN 24 HOURS, so it is absolutely necessary your arrival time . (as the receptionist will be here on your specified time only). in August there are 35 degrees in Venice and to cool the room you have to wait 15 minutes....but you did not want to wait....I then kindly replied that you could communicate your arrival time so you could find the fresh room...as I understood that you were tired and I did not want to argue I gave you a room with the conditional air already on. I believe I have done everything possible for you and being kind

Had a great couple of nights here, location is fantastic overlooking the Grand Canal, a few minutes walk from Rialto. Staff we met were lovely and very helpful, even printed off boarding passes for our return flight. Our quad room was huge, overlooking a small canal. Room and bathroom was clean and tidy. Aircon was not that good in our room, maybe because it was so large. Stairs could be a problem if not so fit Overall we had a great stay and would certainly recommend, very good value, not luxury, directly on the Grand Canal in central Venice. What more can you ask for ?
