Placed along quiet canal it's far enough from very busy tourist area yet easily reached via vaporetto. Staff very nice and pleasant. Great lush green garden for morning Best spot we stayed in a month in Italy.

We had a most enjoyable stay at this lovely comfortable small hotel. All of Venice is at one's fingertips. Close to Vaparetto stop and water taxi. Owner was extremely helpful. Made 'phone enquiry when we forgot essential information re.our cruise booking... then arranged for a taxi, at good price! Relaxed atmosphere and very quiet. breakfast good, especially in the garden....

Casa Rezzonico is easy to find, which can be helpful in the maze that is Venezia, and in a less crowded part of the city, thus making it slightly more authentic. We had a spacious room and bath with air conditioning (thank goodness because Venice was experiencing an unprecedented heat wave when we were there in late August) and free...

We stayed here for two nights in late June. It is beautiful and looks exactly like the photos on the website. The staff was very sweet and helpful and the neighborhood is nice and quiet. We walked here (with suitcases!) from St. Mark's Square--a little bit of hiking but definitely well worth it.

As hotels go in Venice and we have been there more than a dozen times. Casa Rezzonico was excellent. Not a high end hotel but very clean and comfortable, baths were excellent, air conditioning worked perfectly, breakfast in the outdoor garden more than satisfactory. It was cozy and intimate and the owners, two brothers, were extremely friendly and helpful. Location...

My husband and I found this hotel with the help of the fabulous Rick Steve's. From the moment we enterted the hotel we were treated with such genuine hospitality. Since it was our honeymoon, we were surprised to find out that we were upgraded to a canal view (large) bedroom! My husband has emailed the hotel and had flowers waiting...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
