We stayed at the hotel after a cruise. The location is wonderful. 50 m from the Vaporetto station. The owners are always there and do whatever is possible to please you. The room was wonderful. The croissant at breakfast is the best I ever had. Would definetely stay there again!!

Al Ponte Mocenigo hotel provided a warm, wonderful stay in Venice! Walter immediately made us all feel welcome. The entire staff was knowledgeable and accommodating guiding us to excellent local restaurants and providing us with large umbrellas when rain was threatening. It ended up pouring all that day so those umbrellas were life savers. Imagine waking up to croissants baking...

This hotel was magical. Just a small little hotel tucked away in the San Polo district of Venice. You are a 10 minute walk away from Piazza San Marco as well as very close to the water taxis. The morning breakfast was wonderful and the espresso was strong and delicious. This was by far my favorite place to stay on...

September 2010 Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo may be 2 stars but what wondeful stars the two owners are and all the rest of the staff. The free use of a compter for guests, the breakfast on the terrace, the expert and friendly advice on what to see and what to do will delight everyone. Rooms are all well appointed and...

Hotel Al Ponte Moncenigo was everything we expected and more. The room was large, clean, and decorated in the classic Venetian style. We were able to have very peaceful sleep as the room was very quiet and comfortable. The high ceilings and the room air conditioning contributed to a pleasant experience. The location was outstanding to get to the vaporetto...

Fantastic find in Venice. Away from the noise and crowds, yet very close to San Stae vaporetto stop (only 75 meters from stop to hotel door!). Access to train station and all of Venice's sights is very easy and hassle free because of the vaporetto stop. I suggest taking the vaporetto and not a water taxi- the back door is...

This was the best hotel we stayed at during our visit across Italy. The location is fabulous. When we arrived to Venice we had to meet some friends at the hotel and realized that waiting on the water bus was going to make us be late, so we walked to the hotel. We each only had a carry on and...

We spent our last 4 nights in Italy in Venice, staying at Hotel Al Ponte Moceniga, and what a great decision it was to book to stay there. Great location, incredible service, clean, and comfortable. Walter and his staff were very helpful, very polite, willing, and when advice was needed, they were always on hand. Breakfast was a real pleasure...

This review is not about our stay at the above establishment, rather to give credit to outstanding service. We booked a few months ago and have had to cancel for various reasons. We hope to be able to visit at a later stage. From the time of our booking, communication from the owners has been fantastic. They run a very...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
