We arrived later in the day, but we're provided the code for the front door. Once in, our key, a very nice note and some other helpful information was waiting for us on the desk. Our room was very clean, very nice and all we had hoped for for a place off the beaten path. Breakfast is brought to your...

This little B&B is perfectly situated for a stay in Venice. Its very close to the centre, which is very busy, but also has a lot to offer in the San Stae area too. The rooms are clean with a great bathroom. The hairdryer is one of those useless wall ones so ladies take your own. There is UK travel...

Where to begin??? Everything was just perfect, from our room overlooking the canal to breakfast served right in our room, from the fabulous suggestions for restaurants to the towel warmer in the bathroom, from the perfect location away from the crowds to the personal service. We couldn't have picked a better place for our first anniversary trip. You won't be...

My wife and I had the pleasure of staying here during our recent holiday in Italy. Try and book the room on the third floor. This room is well appointed as are all the other rooms with one big exception, the rooftop patio. There you will have your morning breakfast and evenings cocktail while enjoying the activities on the canal....

For those trying to decide where to stay in Venice this is a place we would certainly recommend - it is in a central location within walking distance to most locations and in a nice quiet part of Venice with less tourists/ foot traffic. We arrived in Venice via train. Prior to our arrival Ca' Bonvicini had sent instructions including...

This small elegant hotel is close to all main sites while being situated on a quiet little street, next to a typical venetian bridge. Our room was just the right size, clean and well appointed. We could chose the temperature we wanted in the room, which was nice, considering it had been a rainy week. Service impeccable. Venice itself is...

The exterior of this B&B, and all of Venice for that matter, is very rustic. The beauty defined by classic style slowly maturing until now as other life forms add to the design. The interior is very classical. Ornate furniture combined with wood like tile floor of similar style impressed us very much and the word regal comes to mind....

We were absolutely delighted with our stay here. We had a lovely welcome and we're given a map and advice on where to go in Venice. It was my birthday so there was a lovely surprise in my room, very generous of them and kind. The room was just stunning, very grand. Breakfast in our room the next morning was...

Location is perfect, 5min for San Stae station (airport and train water bus routes), 5min walk to Rialto market and bridge and 15min to San Marco! Very nice host, Sabina was helpful even recommended good restaurants during our short stay there. Breakfast, served in the...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
