Small room, but very clean, central location (although you can walk everywhere in Venice anyway), lovely staff, easy to get to and would stay there again. I had a shares bathroom, the bathroom was super clean and roomy - no problems!

It was just steps away from the Rialto Bridge, you can't get a much better location. The price was good and room was HUGE. Even had a beautiful Murano Glass chandelier. The bathroom was small but manageable.

Close to Rialto Bridge, it's the perfect location for anyone wishing to stay in the centre. Ok, the rooms may be small (ours was a good size), but that's life in Venice. For this type of holiday, you don't need a big 5* hotel room with all the bells & whistles, you'll be out most of the day. I was...

I loved this place! It has a good location, close to the center of Venice but also located in a little street protected from the crowd and the noises. The room was cute and we even had a little terasse. We felt so welcomed when we arrived the 2 girls who are taking care of the hotel are so nice...

The two ladies (sisters) that run this place are so friendly and welcoming that I didn't even want to go sightseeing; I just wanted to stay and chat with them (and play with their dogs). Even though there is not supposed to me any breakfast or tea, they would prepare a nice kettle of hot water for me whenever I...

Very good hotel, excellent location close to Rialto Bridge, room clean and tidy. On arrival we were met at reception by Ambra, who is very chatty and a wealth of knowledge. We asked her about where to eat, what to do and see and the best times to avoid the crowds. All her recommendations were excellent. Our room was in...

Yes, it is small, rooms are basic and facilities are limited, but this is so central, clean and convenient for this wonderful city. And the two sisters are gems, the nicest people and incredibly helpful...their tips for walks, restaurants and places to see were spot on

We totally enjoyed our stay at Hotel San Salvador. The women that ran the front desk were so helpful and friendly. This hotel is very clean and we would absolutely stay there again. It is also an easy location to get there from the main boat stop from the airport by the Rialto Bridge. Thank you for a great stay.

We spend 2 Nights in the Hotel San Salvador in Venice. The Location is really good, just a few steps from the Rialto Bridge. The Staff at the Reception was really friendly and helpful, we felt really welcome. The Room was nice, really clean, a big bed, private bathroom. A real recommendation!

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
