We loved our stay at Hotel Tiziano. It definitely is located away from the tourist areas and we had a bit of difficulty finding it at first--but it was one of our favorite hotels during our trip to Italy and Greece in early June. The rooms were quaint but sufficient--the bathrooms had an actual tub and were larger than most...

We stayed at Hotel Tiziano for two nights in June 2014. It was clean and quaint. We had a family room on the third floor. There is no elevator so you must be prepared to haul your luggage up the three flights of stairs. It worked out fine for us. Our room was in an attic-like space, but it was...

The hotel is situated in a quieter part of Venice away from the crowded tourist areas – this is why we selected it. It is within walking distance of most of the tourist attractions of Venice and has some lovely restaurants close by. The hotel was clean and had a charm about it while the staff were very polite and...

Our two-night stay at Hotel Tiziano was fabulous. Every part - from start to finish - was lovely. Charming and inviting. Comfortable and quiet. The directions there were perfect. It was not a long walk from the San Basilo vaporetto. Close to great restaurants in Campo San Barnaba. For a small hotel, the rooms are more than adequate. Bathrooms are...

This is the 4th time I've tried to post this review but the Wi-Fi disconnects every minute or so, and it takes 3-5 minutes to get back on. The hotel is located in a very remote location - much of the attractions are ~15 walk away. When we first checked in, the lady informed us not to leave food out...

Dear sir, We're sorry to read your review and hear that your overnight stay was bad. Anyway the nice pets, that you didn't understand what they were, are simply the ants that at the beginning of the summer they start to look for the food. It seemed that you had understood that, we're sorry if you throught about something else....

This is a small hotel in a quiet part of Venice but within walking distance of all of the city. The staff are friendly and helpful and speak good English. The rooms are clean and provide everything you need and breakfast was good. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance and we were glad not to have to go...

We booked our room through Amoma, which we absolutely would NEVER use again. Their customer service (if you can call it that) was the worse we have ever experienced. The hotel never received the change of dates we requested through Amoma so the hotel (Claudia) wanted to charge us for not showing up when we reserved the room. We began...

Dear Sir, We are truly sorry that your experience in our hotel was so terrible, but it was not our mistake. You had a misunderstanding with your agency Amoma. Anyhow neither you or your agency advised us about this change. infact you never reply to Amoma's proposal to change dates with a supplement. At this point you was lucky that...

This was a good 3* hotel in a very quiet area of Venice; the real Venice where people actually lived away from the hustle / bustle of the day trippers to St Mark’s Square which was overwhelming during the day but more reasonable in early evening when my wife attended a service. An afternoon visit to the square was the...

My wife I stayed here last month for our one year anniversary. We both enjoyed it, it was a nice, clean hotel, had a polite and helpful staff, good Italian breakfast, and was located in a quaint, quiet part of Venice. My only complaint would be it is located some distance away from the center of venice, grand canal and...

A lovely hotel in a peaceful location away from the tourist throng. Our room was clean and comfortable and overlooked the canal. Breakfast was good although the breakfast room does get vey busy and sometimes you had to wait to be seated. Staff at Tiziano are always friendly and helpful and speak good English. Would definitely stay again.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighbourhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighbourhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighbourhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbours exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
