On our recent trip to Europe to take back to back Viking Cruises, we had the good fortune to arrive a day early in Venice. As a result, we chose our own hotel for that night. After much research, we chose the Hotel Moresco. The effort was well worth it. The charming hotel is 4 years new and looks like...

Wow! Just got back from two nights in Venice at Hotel Moresco. My boyfriend and I had a standard room while my parents had a superior room. Both well appointed with the major difference between the two being more room in the superior. The breakfast was wonderful as was the happy hour in the evenings but what makes the hotel...

The staff at the hotel are so so kind that I thought they were acting out! Rooms are absolutely beautiful, the decorations are stunning and the service is just great! The staff explains how everything works at the hotel, from the shower (which is amazing) to the happy hours and the key. It's very well located and the breakfast has...

Felt very special at Moresco hotel, the staff were attentive especially Alfredo and the other waiters at the breakfast and happy hour. These two events at the hotel were brilliant, yummy food and awesome service. Our triple room 203 was not the best felt a bit squeezed and the extra bed was awkward and small. No night light in the...

They went above and beyond in every aspect!! Getting to the hotel by train or bus is very easy. I really appreciated the maps (with pictures) for walking directions from both stations. It made it very easy to find. Upon arrival we were greeted and welcomed with a drink of our choice and snacks that were all delicious. From there...

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Moresco. The breakfast and happy hour were fantastic. The service was very welcoming. The location while it is with in walking distance from the bus and train station really isn't that great. It's actually the other direction from most sights and you have to walk back to catch a water bus. I really liked...

From the moment you walk in the front door the feeling is warm. A friendly welcome drink. A proper introduction to the room. Our very comfortable "superior" room had a large mosiac bathroom with a free standing tub plus an outdoor balcony terrace with seating. However the greatest thing about this hotel are the staff. Always working hard to make...

The Hotel Moresco was the best choice I could have made for our Venice Stay. It is located just steps away from the Piazzale Roma Transportation center. We came off a cruise at the Port of Venice, walked 1/2 mile to the People Mover, took that shuttle to the Piazzale Roma and had a three minute walk to the Hotel....

We had a great stay at Hotel Moresco. We were there for 3 nights and found the staff to be first rate. Barbara at the front desk was very helpful with all our questions and every member of the staff was very pleasant, competent and willing to do anything to make our visit more enjoyable. At 6:30 the hotel has...

We arrived late to the hotel and they changed our dinner booking twice to make it work for us. We stayed in the Jr. suite and it was lovely. Staying in Santa Croce

Neighbourhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.
