This ticked loads of boxes. I was arriving+leaving by rail so something an easy walk away was good. Still it was on a fairly quiet canal with shattered windows onto canal. Rooms are simple however the whole place was looked after, albeit budget it has character. A/C was fine. Received email with key-code as no staff at hotel. I was fine with that. Dinner at a simple Restaurant close to railway station was simple however good. Set menu, also had a soft drink and Tiramasu (excellent) and was not charged, really more than fair. Stay was very cost effective overall. If you are not expecting posh this place is fantastic.
If you want a very basic clean room, that is pretty easy to find, without a front desk experience near the train station and Piazza Roma busses to the airport. this hotel is fine. We got our key from the restaurant next door. While there is a front desk when you get into the main building, there is never anyone there so if you want directions or recommendations you're out of luck. I booked this hotel because it said it has AC. There were controls for the AC, but they did basically nothing. Fortunately, it wasn't very hot when we were there so we were ok with opening the window although there were a few mosquitos. There is also no breakfast. We left at 7:30 am. The restaurant next door was locked up. We couldn't find anyone with whom to leave the key so we hung it on the board behind the desk. Also, the hair dryer is one of those wall units that does basically nothing so you might want to bring a dryer. There is a restaurant next door that stays open quite late so if you are a light sleeper it is not great. I definitely wouldn't want to spend more than one night here, but for a cheap overnight stay it's fine if you don't mind the stuff mentioned above.…
We had a wonderful canal view. Our hostess, Christine, was accommodating and so kind to us. We were able to store our cases until it was time to go to the cruise ship. A good experience for the night, to be able to take in Venice before our cruise.
Booked two rooms for 1 night before cruise. My daughters loved this hotel. Rooms were modest, They had a view on the canal. Only 2 small bridges from P.. de la Roma. - important when you have cruise luggage. They would definately stay there again. the bonus was the dinner included.
We spent one nights in this hotel. To begin with..this is a basic hotel but cant expect anything much in Venice. The hotel is clean. It is close to the railway station and Piazzale Roma. So if you are travelling with luggage this place is a good choice. There are multiple choices for food and shopping around. Easy access to vaparetto as well. There was no one at the reception when we reached. So I walk through the hotel and find a housekeeping lady in one of the rooms. With all our language barriers, i understood that i had to call the manager who sits somewhere else. I spoke to her and got the keys. so the keys are hung across a board. just pick them from there. the access door to the hotel is coded. For meals, this hotel has a tie up with restaurants. we had chosen dinner. the restaurant was 10 mins away from the hotel. the food was good and we were given options of pizza or set meals. we opted for set meals. but we were not able to finish even the first dish so we cancelled rest of the food (dont believe in wasting food). the lady was kind enough to serve us tiramisu. They have a conceirge service on 1st floor. There is a section with a curtain. and the luggage has to be left there. it was safe. There is no lift. its a three storey building. For check out, we hung the keys back where we took it from. to reach this place: Get out of the railway station and walk to your left. cross the first bridge. and then just follow google maps. This way you will avoid crossing three bridges. we realised this in the evening. it helps if you are travelling with luggage.…
The location is in the most perfect location. Situated on a street near piazza Roma, ideal to get to the centre and airport and water bus services The check in was done through a phone connected to the doorbell. I found that you'd need Italian in order to understand the check in process. It took the 3rd attempt for someone to connect through as well. It is a very self service hotel, you take the key and the note attached clearly instructed telling us which restaurant we had to go for the dinner and password for the WiFi. The dinner was good, three plates and a bottle of wine. We were welcomed by kristina at the restaurant and she was very helpful and accomodating for us. The bathroom was well equipped and the shower was good and spacious. The room was a bit outdated but it's what to be expected for the hotel. For the price it's definitely worth staying at this hotel. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it friends looking to stay in Venice. …
There is a old building with no service . Arrive at 9:30am morning but cannot get in to the place since the landlord /host is not here.. ring the bell for almost 25 minutes til get the answer and let in ...it was a lady with soft sounds said that just drop our bags at their front desk and come back check in later... There is no elevator in the hotel, that is definitely not a friendly place for tourists especially family ...
We stay in this hotel as it was near Piazzale Roma bus station and near the people mover that we can take to go to the cruise ship the next morning. We were given quite an old room which need updating and face a building with have a neglected compound and not facing the canal as we thought it would be. It didn't matter because we were only staying for one night. THe hotel provided dinner which we have take in a nearby restaurant and we enjoy the foods which was delicious. There is no one at reception and to access the hotel is using the doorbell and access code however we later met the owner at the restaurant and she was a very nice lady.
This was our 4th visit to Venice( and since our regular hotel was booked up) and we were taking day trips out of the city, we chose the Locanda Salieri because of it's proximity to the train station. I was traveling with my wife, her sister and their cousin. If you want to get in shape for your tour this is the hotel for you. The several bridges we had to cross from the bus area got my heart pumping very well, but the 4 floor walk up to our room with luggage really eliminated the need for a gym. Thank goodness at 72 years of age I am in fairly good shape. There was someone to meet us a the desk downstairs but she was not very conversant in English. There was some confusion about our check in / room rate but we finally cleared that up...not to our satisfaction .It would be the last time we saw anyone. We were told we would have a complimentary breakfast, but we never could find the restaurant, and no one would answer our calls. I don't know what would happen in case of an emergency. One day one of our rooms was not made up. Generally speaking the rooms were clean as were the bathrooms, but very small. The A/C didn't work very well at all, and when the temperature is 87 degrees with 85% humidity it was nearly unbearable. We did hire a porter for 30 euros to take our luggage to the train station at the end of our 4 day stay. I love this city but this trip was not the most comfortable ( some of that was due to an unseasonable heat wave) and much of that was due to our accomodations. I will return to Venice someday but not to this hotel.…
Pros : A 10 minute walk from either the train station or Piazzale Roma bus station and people mover to reach your cruiseship. Very clean, air conditioning and wifi worked well. The beds were fairly confortable. Dinner or lunch included, which were quite tasty. We chose to have lunch as the restaurant is more of a diner type restaurant, very noisy, tv on, very bright. The restaurant is located near the train station so you have to cross the bridge over the grand canal to reach it. The service was good and the managers who also manage the hotel are very hard-working people. Cons: Very old furniture in small rooms. We are glad we booked a triple room for two as we had extra space for our luggage. We did not have a canal view but our room was very quiet. We had two night tables with one lamp without a light bulb. Only two hangers for clothes. There was no one at the reception downstairs most of the time as the lady was busy cleaning the rooms upstairs. If you spend only one or two nights and don't have a mobility problem, this hotel is fine and the price is right for Venice.…
