San Polo area is about 15 minutes walk from the Rialto bridge, that is unless you get lost, which is easy to do in Venice. Our room at Ca San Polo was the smallest hotel room we had in Italy, but it was very quaint, with wood panelling, wooden beams in the ceiling and a small shower-room which was cleverly...

The location is fine even though it is not so close to Piazza San Marcos, there is a vaporetto station nearby and you can easily get everywhere. The bedrooms are big and the beds are great after spending all day walking. The wi-fi was good but sometimes it would stop working. I would definitely recommend it.

Rooms are very small, we barely fit our luggage. However, we were offered a bigger room for 15 euro more per day. This I think was a bit off, personally I think you should upgrade people and get very happy customers. The rooms are a bit worn, but very charming. They are clean and quiet. Breakfast was better than expected,...

The location was good for us, took us 15 mins to to get to the square. There are some stairs, so be prepared to carry your luggage. very hard to get lost, we always found out way back, even in the dark. The hotel is small, but so it everything in Venice, but very cozy. The staff are extremely friendly...

Don't be fooled by the lack of hotel entrance this was a little gem!! The rooms were beautiful and full of character with en-suites and dressing tables. The breakfast included was brilliant, continental including prosecco! The service was also brilliant here all the staff couldn't do enough to help! I would especially recommend having a drink on the rooftop terrace-the...

We stayed at Ca' San Polo for a long weekend in Venice. The location is fantastic and within walking distance of pretty much everything. The staff and owner were friendly and provided various recommendations for activities and meals. Great stay and good price.

Our experience at Ca San Polo was very easy. There were a few problems, the wifi went down for a few days, not great, but not the end of the world. Our rooms were not ready so we had to stay in singles the first night. The lovely, friendly ladies who took care of us with breakfast, breakfast trays, and...

Lovely little hotel that found home in a renaissance palace. It is all renovated and up to the high standard. My room was big, bed very comfortable and the bathroom came equipped with bathrobe and slippers. I can really recommend the place for a nice stay in Venice. Oh and the breakfast is served in the top floor with all...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
