Travellers' Choice
In the heart of Venice, just around the corner from Ca' d'Oro and the Casino, Ca' Gottardi's superior location is one of the best. Its rooms and ambiance aspire to be one of the most sophisticated structures in Venice where traditional art and innovative design combine in a rare elegance. Ca' Gottardi provides charming accommodations, each unique, in the most elegant Maison de Charme style. Its interiors are the result of an attention to details with regard to materials and techniques and a heightened sensitivity in approaching forms and volumes in accordance with Venetian artistic tradition. Clean and modern design is reflected in the entrance stairway of pure white marble and balustrade in crystal, where light creates unique effects. In addition to the piano nobile, guests are welcomed with a unique elegance, in which the creativity of Italian design enriched by a touch of luxury that is typical of the great patrician residences. Ca' Gottardi occupies the main floor of an antique Venetian palace from the XV century, then known as Ca' Priuli. Ca' Gottardi overlooks the Rio de Noal with a balcony covered by a beautiful late 17-th century quadrifora window. From here, you can admire Ca' Pesaro to your right, today the home of the Modern Art Gallery. Here are Ca' Gottardi's rooms, a world of class and refinement, for an unforgettable stay. Furnishings have been crafted by experts, in the classical Venetian 18th-century style, and evoke that noble elegance that has made Venice famous throughout Europe. Fine brocade curtains and carpets provide a warm contrast to a light-filled ambience created by the high ceilings and large windows. The world-famous art of glass is displayed in the chandeliers, the appliqués and in the gold-framed mirrors. Parquet floors in African woods in warm tones of red and brown are laid with rich soft carpeting.

Just returned from our stay at Ca Gottardi. Great location in between Rialto bridge and Jewish Ghetto. We got the Alilaguna from the airport to F.Nove and walked. Approx 15 minute walk. Ok as only had hand luggage. Purchased tickets at airport. 15 euro each. On entrance to hotel you have to walk up some stairs to reception. Hotel reception and lobby area is lovely and reception is 24 hours. We had a standard room and it was much bigger than expected. The hotel provides shower gel, shampoo, soap and body lotion. Hairdryer also in room and it’s powerful so I was relieved as I have long hair. We didn’t purchase breakfast but went to Co-op Supermarket located just over the bridge near hotel. We purchased fruit and water (much cheaper than buying out and kept the fridge stocked in the room) We would definitely stay again. Only negatives - shower temperature changed if someone else ran tap and it gets hot Wifi kept dropping out but we had enough data anyway. The room was very warm as weather was nice and the air con was temperamental. The towel radiator was on very high so when we realised turned it down. Tips The hotel balcony is small but great to watch the world go by outside Pre book restaurants if you want to ensure a table or if not go late (9:30). If not you will queue outside or be turned away. St Marks Basilica - 3 euro entrance but big queue (moved reasonably fast) or you can pay 6 euros and skip the line but prebook online. When we arrived all slots for the day had gone. Gondola - they are 80 euro for half an hour. If you want to experience the gondola for a few mins at 2 euro look for the traghetto gondolas. We had to wear FFP2 non valved masks when boarding the water bus in Venice and in most public places inc supermarket. The water bus will refuse you on board without one. I don’t know if rules are changing anytime soon.

A hotel so close to the Ca'Pesaro, one of the most impressive palaces on the Canal Grande that I must see every time I'm in Venice, that's a must for me! It took me a long time, but I finally booked it and found an ideally located and charming hotel with even more charming staff, friendly and always available. Rooms are tastefully decorated with comfortable beds and large bathroom and views on the canal and Strada Nova ), and breakfast was rich and fresh. Only minus was the airco: it was not able to cool the breakfast room nor the room, maybe due to the extremely high temperatures outside (35 degrees Celsius), but anyhow..... A great hotel, even more so in cooler months......

Booked for one night in the middle of a 16 night tour of Italy. We wanted something special and was really excited as I'd booked a suite. Reading the description I was expecting a 2 room suite with the décor on the website. With 2 teen girls, we need the space! The first room was beautifully decorated but, was small for 4 people and the shower was in need of a good clean and upgrade. I told the wonderful staff of my disappointment and we were taken to an apartment just a short walk away (Maddelena suites) and oh my goodness! Two huge rooms and large bathroom. Lovingly restored. We felt like royalty. Large TV in each room. My girls felt very special. A balcony in the lounge area overlooked a side canal. Breakfast was back at the Ca'Gottardi and was well stocked. 3 different menus to choose from. We had the full which included scrambled eggs, cheese, ham, bakery items, bread, juice and coffee. There was a hairdryer, lovely toiletries and a couple of bottles of water too. Staff also looked after our luggage so that we didn't need to carry it around all day. Loved the hotel and the staff made our stay so much better. Give them a pay rise!!X

Venice is open for business, people! Don’t believe the doom and gloom news the media loves to put out! We just spent 4 glorious days in Venice on a family vacation. While we were hesitant to visit initially based on media reports of extensive flooding, repeated reassurances by the hotel staff persuaded us to go ahead with our visit. So glad we did!! The hotel’s location is fantastic, as with almost all buildings in the city, the hotel is located alongside a busy canal in the Cannaregio district - very central to all points of interest and boat taxi stations. The hotel itself is clean and welcoming, although infrastructure struggles to keep up with demand at times. The highlight of our stay was the staff - Fabio, Diego, Sorina and others were simply fantastic!! Very friendly and solicitous/helpful...they made our stay all the more memorable!! Weather was superb, cold but clear and sunny, the city was very clean given the 30-million visitors it receives annually (54,000 Venetians constantly bombarded by hordes of tourists). December is an ideal time to visit as crowds are thinner (heard that summers can be unbearable due to heat and overcrowding) and all sights are readily accessible. No sign of flooding anywhere!! The hotel suites were large, comfortable and clean, complimentary bottled water was a huge bonus. Breakfast was adequate (Continental) but not overly impressive - coffees/hot chocolate/juices etc on demand were most welcome. All in all...had a superb time walking the miles of beautiful alleyways, visiting the islands of Murano and Burano (the latter a fantastically colorful fishermen’s village) and ooh-ing and ahh-ing at the glorious sights the city and environs have to offer. So, ignore the news media...do visit and help the hotel staff earn a living (negative media coverage has resulted in mass cancellations, jeopardizing local livelihoods) ...in turn, they will take excellent care of you! Thank you, lovely staff of Ca Gottardi!!

Picked this for our 5 night stay as we like the busyness of Strada Nuova. Not cheap for a b&b but breakfast is good and everything bis close to hand. Disappointed though in size of room and decor needed some TLC.

Great location, even better personnel. Small fixes needed in suite we stayed here and there but personnel handled them, for example once saying "I don't know how but I will fix it." And when returning to hotel that issue was fixed. Highly recommended!

Adorable quaint hotel in Venice, with walking distance to major points of interest, and surrounded by plenty of shops and restaurants. Room was perfect size. Shower a little small ( typical ) breakfast each morning was complimentary and delicious. Loved that the drinks during the day were complimentary especially the waters in the room. Had a great stay, all of the staff was very friendly. Thank you!
