We stayed here for 2 nights in Apr'22 Pros: Ideal location a few meters away from La Fenice; Great views of the canal from the room balcony; Spacious and clean room; Nice breakfast service Cons: Our room (Suite vista Canal) was located on the third floor which became a pain to climb with the kids every time. There was no wifi in the room (despite flagging off to the staff no action was taken). Bathroom was dank

We chose this hotel due to it's location and great price and were not at all disappointed. It is bang in the middle of San Marco and about 5 minutes walk from either the Rialto Bridge or Piazza San Marco which means it is perfectly positioned for exploring much of Venice on foot or by water on the vaporetto. We arrived after midnight (24/7 reception is still available at the moment which is rare for smaller hotels) and received a friendly welcome. This was a standard that was followed throughout our stay until the moment we left. The breakfast service was also excellent. They have worked out a really good system for handling breakfast in these times which still gives an excellent meal to start the day. They offered a full variety of interesting continental breakfast choices giving both quantity and quality! The service provided by the staff was friendly, attentive and efficient. I'd make a particular mention of Katrina, who was a shining example of this! The only reason to make the hotel down to 4/5 is that the rooms are looking a little tired. The Venitian style is partly responsible for this but we felt the hotel would benefit from a little refurbishment. Despite this, everything was impeccably clean. We certainly wouldn't hestiate to stay again!

A lovely hotel, great breakfast selection. 24hr service. Very clean rooms, we had a courtyard view and could see the top of the campanile San Marco, indicating how close we were to the campo. We were on the top floor so lots if steps to climb, we were fine but I know my 70year old parents would of struggled as there is no lift. Sadly the air con would only blow out warm air so we had to have the window open most of the time. This resulted in us having to listen to the loud, chain smoking, coughing restaurant staff from next door in the courtyard. I actually cancelled my booking at the restaurant due to the amount the chef smoked and coughed! The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We arrived early but were welcomed in with our room ready. They were happy to look after our bags for a few hours after we checked out. The location is great with lots of shops, cafe/restaurants and things to see on your doorstep. Scala Contarini del Bovolo is an architectural wonder and a must see just off Campo Manin. We would definatley recommend Al Theatro restaurant for huge glasses of prosecco and the best pizza I've ever tasted, Vino Vino was lovely for a cosy romantic meal also. There is a very resonably priced supermarket just off Campo Manin, Simply Market. You are also a 5min walk from the Alilaguna stop, S.Maria Del Giglio, for the boat bus from and to Marco Polo Airport (VCE). This is a vaporetto stop also, make sure you buy your tickets ahead of time as there is no billet machine on this top, the AVM Venezia app is great for buying tickets online.

Hotel Mercurio has a super nice staff, very helpful in whatever you need. The location Is great, close to San Marco Square (but you can reach train station or Rialto bridge in order to take the boat, easily by walking). The rooms are small but very nice. Moreovere, the breakfast Is really good, they provide every morning delicious homemade dessert. Strongly suggested.

Dear Guest Thank you for your positive feedback. The opinion of our guests is very important for us to improve our service. We are happy that you appreciated the kindness of our staff, the cleanless of the hotel, the composition of our breakfast and the position very close to the principal points. We hope to see you again in the future for another stay in Venice in our hotel. Best regards Hotel Mercurio Staff
