We chose this hotel because of other reviews on Trip Advisor and we were not disappointed. We received a very warm welcome on arrival and as it was our first time in Venice - lots of information and helpful maps. We chose one of the hotels superior rooms which was very comfortable and spotless, although not the largest of rooms...

We spent 5 nights in the Apostoli Palace in Venice this past July as part of our honeymoon, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff was always amazing, helpful and friendly. We stayed in the superior room, which was really nice, well-decorated and big! I checked so many hotels, looking for the perfect atmosphere and Apostoli Palace matched our...

Wonderful!!!. My friend and I stayed here in December, this is a lovely friendly hotel. Staff were excellent and nothing was any trouble. The hotel is really clean, fresh towels every day, the usual toiletries etc, and even though we were only staying for 3 nights our sheets were changed during our stay. The room was beautifully decorated in venetian style,...

As we had read several reviews on the Apostoli Place on TripAdvisor.com and even found it at a reasonable rate for new years in Venice, we did not hesitate to book. Normally it is not the kind of hotel we enjoy staying at, due to the tiny size and lack of a bar and places to hang out. We therefore...

I stayed at the Apostoli during a quick excursion to the city in February. A little difficult to find at first, the location was quiet, yet minutes to water taxi's and sites. The staff was very helpful and polite, with tips on what to see and how to get there. Charming decor, the room was clean had modern conveniences. My...

This is a lovely small hotel away from the more touristy areas. Location is always important to us and providing you have a good map it shouldn't take too long to get from the hotel to the main areas such as St Mark's Square. The Ca'Dor vaporetto stop is 5 minutes away if you want to go along the Grand...

I loved this hotel, and it made the stay in Venice, which is a beautiful city, even more special. The room was not overly large but it was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was a good size (shower only). Breakfast was a treat, time it right and you get a table by the small balcony. Service was...

My sister and I stayed at Apostoli Palace the previous three nights. I can only recommend this hotel. Book room 101 - S. Andreas - as it has a balcony, which we enjoyed a lot. The location is very quiet - yet not far from major attractions, but charmingly in the middle of a neighbourhood full of more "local" shops...

Stayed here for 3 nights. The outside does not look great but inside is beautiful and spotlessly clean. We booked a superior room as the reviews implied it would be worth the extra money - it was. The renovations were lovely. The breakfast room is very small and directly outside the bedrooms, but the croissants, etc. were beautiful. The staff...

We really enjoyed our stay at the Apostoli Palace. It is in a nice quiet neighborhood where you get a feel for everyday life in Venice, but still within easy walking distance of everything. The rooms were cute, and the staff was always very helpful. There is a great deli around the corner where you can pick up some meat...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
