The rooms are very comfortable and extremely clean. Beautiful decor. The service and the accommodations were excellent. Very well situated. Only 10 minutes to St. Marks square or 5 minutes to Rialto bridge. Also the breakfast was very good. Closeness to main attractions. The staff friendly and helpful. We will come again.

We stayed at this b&b at the end of June for one night. We were allowed to check-in early and left our luggage while we did some more sightseeing after checking out. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable although small but that seems typical across Italy. The breakfast was also typical...

We stayed in this hotel on the basis that it was a) reasonably priced and b) had good reviews. We weren't disappointed - it was really wonderful. We stayed for 4 nights at the end of May 2009. We got the Alilaguna water bus from Marco Polo and got off at the Fondamenta Nuove and from there it was only...

After several days of hotel searching on-line for accommodations in Venice and with the grim realization that what you see may not always be what you get, we were overjoyed with our choice of Apostoli Palace. Our room looked out on a quiet street and was prettiily decorated in old world Venetian style. The bath was fully equipped and modern....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Apostoli Palace a few weeks ago. The hotel is located in the Cal d'Ora neighborhood of Venice on a dead end street. It is quiet and the service is outstanding. The breakfast is served in a cozy sitting room where fresh coffee is brewed to your liking. The pastries and the breakfast in...

This hotel was wonderful . The staff are so helpful and friendly. We booked last minute and the room was quite small but it was a georgous room. The other rooms in the hotel are a lot larger. The hotel is in a very good location.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
