Location is simply breathtaking (just in front at Santa Maria del Giglio) but the most important is how Bel Sito Team is kind and collaborative for anyy kind of need (we ask about handicap assistance), they were simply FANTASTIC !

After a 5-year gap between visits, it was lovely to find that the charm of this hotel has been retained. We returned to celebrate our Pearl Wedding Anniversary with a 5 night stay and were enchanted all over again. It is small, with friendly, attentive staff and lovely period features. The staff appreciate even the most tentative attempts at speaking...

So pleased we picked this hotel for our 3 day break in Venice. It is a cosy venetian style hotel, the room we stayed in was a nice size bedroom but had a very small shower and there is no tea making facilities. All the staff were very professional and helpful and on our first day we bumped into the...

We had a pleasant stay in the Hotel Bel Sito. Very close to San Marco square yet very quiet. We enjoyed the tables out front, only for guests, to have drinks or breakfast and watch the world go by in the nearby piaza. WE had a lovely balcony. Very easy to reach with no bridges from the Alilaguna orange line....

We were so pleased at staying for our very short trip at the "hotel Bel Sito and Berlino". It was a perfect central location, only a five minute walk from St Marks Square and the Realto Bridge was only 10mins away. Handy shop opposite. The staff at the hotel were so polite and helpful, the full breakfast the next morning...

There is just few minites walk to vaporetto station, Piazza San Marco and many more interesting place. I was very satisfied because the hotel accepted my request for my room with canal view even it was bit tiny. And The staff are all very friendly so I didn't feel lonely or bored alone.

My husband and I had a nice one night stay here. Our room had an "old world" feel to it with a giant wood dresser and upholstered walls. It also had beautiful views of the church across the street. I was impressed with the service too. We brought our dog on our trip to Italy and this was the only...

We returned 5 years after our first visit and I am pleased to say that this lovely little hotel is even better. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble, from booking Vivaldi concert tickets to restaurant advice. We had a good breakfast every day and thankfully they don't do the "Full English". The décor...

We had the pleasure of spending 3 nights in this lovely hotel in July 2015. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, the room was fairly compact and very olde worlde as befits the ancient city. The wall covering in the room was a padded damask material and of course we had a Murano glass chandelier! The breakfasts, (which we...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
