This hotel is a really nice 'old' fashioned hotel and I would recommend people to stay. The staff were polite, helpful and friendly however it was let down by not having a tea/coffee tray in the room even in the superior rooms and we missed having our early morning coffee, When I mentioned it to reception they said order room...

My second time around in Cenice has been amazing! The hotel was very well located and its staff so nice and wonderful to us. Rooms are clean and tidy though few little things needed to be fixed but overall, I was very happy with my stay there. Breakfast is really delicious and the location was just perfect as many of...

Centrally located in Venice, just a short walk to St. Marks square, also short walk to water bus. From the first moment we arrived to the last goodbyes, it was such a pleasant experience. The room was so charming, beds very comfortable, and most important, clean. Breakfast was the best we had in Italy, plenty of choices, fresh fruit, pastries,...

We stayed here for three lovely nights. In fact I write this sitting outside on our last night. It is only my second time to Italy, been waiting for 16years to come back but have never been to Venice before. My 16year old daughter chose Venice and I chose Florence. I am so glad she did. This hotel has been...

My wife and I stayed here for a few days whilst exploring Venice. The hotel is small but charming, with a lovely garden area where you can sit and have breakfast if you wish. The breakfast is really good with delicious coffee and pastries. The staff at the reception desk were always very pleasant and helpful. Easy to find when...

We stayed at the Bel Sito e Berlino hotel in Venice for three nights in June this year. It was our second visit. It is extremely well located, only a few minutes from St Mark's square but quiet and relaxing. It is also well situated for local restaurants. The room was very nice and the breakfast area was spacious. The...

Right next to vaporeto stop, 300 meters from San Marco square, its location can be considered ideal. Not spacious rooms, but that's Venice. Very nice decoration and clean rooms. Bathroom was very small, hardly fit in the shower cabin. breakfast was nice and service and staff very friendly, willing to give you all the info you are gonna ask for....

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
