The hotel San Gallo offers the perfect location for Piazza San Marco. Literally 100m away.
It’s set on a small square which is quiet.
For the price I don’t think you can complain, breakfast was limited but for a few days it’s fine.
Stayed for 4 nights in February. Hotel not easy to find, but where is in Venice? San Gallo is a proper old Venitian hotel 200 metres from St Marks square but far enough away to be quiet. Rooms are not big but very comfortable and...More
The hotel is quite basic, small rooms and few facilities. Breakfast was OK, limited choice which didn't change from day to day. I would have rated it as average, but for the redeeming factors: Firstly, it was cheaper than I imagined could be possible in...More
We stayed here for 10th wedding anniversary and has a great time. The location is superb and about as close as you can get to the square. Breakfast was better than we expected - a good continental with excellent coffee and lots of pastries.
A cute little hotel in a great location. Just 2 minutes from San Marco square.
The room was comfy enough, but not a lot of space... we found it fine for us though.
So easy to wonder the streets of Venice from this hotel.
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.

This was a massive issue for me too - but honestly it was SO easy! There is a bus literally right outside treviso airport called AVTO (or something can’t quite remember - google busses to Venice and you’ll find it!). It takes you to the water taxi and then you just get on one and wait until you get to San Marco - ask anyone for help if you need it everyone is so helpful! Then google maps on your phone for the 2 minute walk to the hotel x
