Stayed there for a few nights with family. The hotel is easy to find and staff is wonderful. Incredibly clean! And the location was perfect, minutes away from Piazza San Marco. The only downside is there is no lift, but all the rest more than made up for that.
Beautiful little Hotel, which is centrally located in Venice. Few minutes from Piazza San Marco and within many restaurants. It was my birthday and we had requested a nice room. We got corner room just above the canal- nicely decorated, clean and friendly staff. We requested early check in and the room was ready when we arrived. My parents have organised flowers and champagne, which was nicly decorated from hotels side in the room. Breakfast was included and was sufficient with bread, cereals, eggs and croissant. Delicious coffee and most of all friendly staff. Worth a visit.
Went to Venezia for the Art Biennale with the family. Second stay in this hotel. Super centric, 5 minutes from Piazza San Marco. The staff is very friendly, speaks English, and very helpful. Even though the hotel doesn't have an elevator theres someone who helps you with your luggage all the way to your room. The rooms are spacious, we booked a triple and where comfortable and enough to hazzle even with luggage. The breakfast that was included in my reservation was delicious and well balanced. Although this weekend Venezia was flooded all the way to the entrance to the hotel, the staff was friendly, guided and super responsive in this cases.
Stayed here for 3 nights, end of September. Great location, 5-10 walk to either the Rialto Bridge or St Marks Square either side. We had a double room with canal view, quite lovely just before sunset as you can watch the gondoliers go past and listen to them sing. Nice size room for 2 people, air con included. My only fault was their key system. You have to give your key back every time you leave and return to the building. They don’t do any checks to confirm you’re actually staying there. Twice we asked for the wrong room number to see what the staff would do and they handed it over, no questions! (Different staff each time who had never seen us) Aside from that, definitely recommend!
Excellent property so close to San Marco Square. Rooms are moderate size, very clean and just an overall solid 3-star property. They don't have a lift but do have a porter to assist with luggage. The front desk staff are very helpful with directions and recommendations. Breakfast was very satisfactory. An overall good experience and easy to recommend.
We were sent here by another hotel (small mixup in the booking) and this place was stunning. The staff were friendly and welcoming while the location was nice and central, with many nice restaurants in the area. The rooms were luxurious with a comfortable bed, a minibar, TV, safe and coffee/tea set (though there was no bath in our room). To top it all the breakfast was delicious, with a relatively wide range of croissants, meats, cheeses and fruit. All in all a lovely experience. Thank you
we stayed here two nights and were very happy. we had a quad room which was a queen sized bed and two twins. the staff was super helpful and really appreciated they were able to let us check in early. the location is right in between st marks and rialto. you can take the allilaguna from the airport or cruise terminal to either stop and walk (riallto is a bit closer). it's stairs only, so be aware. rooms are at least two floors up from the street. the free breakfast was very good.
This place was great. Spent two nights here prior to a cruise. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception desk. Also I believe a Michelin Star restaurant at the base of hotel though we didn't find that out until it was time to leave. Would've loved to try it. Just great location in Venice short walk to the St Marks Cathedral and great restaurants and shops all around. Rooms are small and beds a bit hard (typical for Europe), but air conditioner was working fine and rooms are clean, with nice bathroom. Rooms also have minibar/fridge and a coffee machine. Nice quiet rooftop to have a drink and cigar at the end of a long day. No lift at this hotel so it may be difficult for someone with difficulty walking up stairs. Staff will gladly assist with baggage. Free breakfast was decent. Not a huge selection but good coffee and good pastries. Gets the "Excellent" rating from me as the location, staff and rooms are great, especially for the price.…
This is one of many quaint little hotels in Venice. It is in the hub and within walking distance to everything. Restaurants , shopping, sightseeing! Has a nice breakfast that is included with your stay. Gave you a true taste of a Venice hotel. Rooms are small but we were busy all day seeing the sights so it worked out fine. Not too many deals in finding hotels in Venice and this hotel was comparable to the others but it is near everything!
I had a very clean, snug, highly functional, lovely room at Antica Locanda al Gambero. The hotel is located in the heart of Venice’s oldest district...nearly equidistant between the Rialto Bridge and St. Mark’s Square, a fabulous location on a lovely little canal. The staff were incredibly helpful and courteous, and the breakfasts generous and lovely. The attached Bistrot Venise is slightly pricey, worth the cost as the cuisine is a thoughtful and high quality presentation of classic Venetian and Italian dishes. I would highly recommend the Gambero for anyone looking for an unpretentious, comfortable, worry free hotel stay in Venice. One morning I accidentally left behind an expensive iPhone battery bank, only to find it exactly where I’d left it. The rooftop terrace is a delightful touch, too! Thank you for a wonderful week!…
