This is a lovely boutique hotel - easy to get to and also near the quieter area of the city. Two of the best chiccetti bars are close. Lovely breakfast. The only issue is noise - don't get a room in the front as the street is very busy.

Dear Nigel, thank you so much for your kind review. As far as the noise, please note that coins have always two faces. Your room has an stunning view on Rio Terà San Leonardo, (or Strada Nova in Venetian Language) is one of the most beautiful and charming street of the real Venice. Well, it is quite normal having some...

My partner and I spent two nights at the Arcadia and loved every minute of it, the staff were wonderful and made us feel incredibly welcome. The room was lovely and certainly not too small for a boutique hotel in Venice. Definitely going back again!

Very nice! The room was definitely very European in that it was small, especially the bathroom. But it was very clean and nicely decorated. Breakfast was amazing! The cappuccino was the best I've had in Italy!

I spent six nights here and it was a really enjoyable stay. The hotel is genuinely boutique - small, personal, beautifully furnished, and with great care given to all aspects of service and comfort. Located in Cannaregio, close to the Guglie mooring point (and therefore very convenient for transport to and from the airport), it is tricky to spot from...

A beautiful bespoke hotel in a great location. They have gone to great lengths to fit out the interior hotel, and both the room and common areas were very visually appealing. Great bathrooms - was so glad to finally have a proper shower after travelling in Switzerland! The staff were professional, attentive and friendly. The breakfast had a good range...

We stayed two nights during Carnivale. We were in a room at the front and needless to say it was noisy. But that was no fault of the hotel. Since I live in NYC, it was not unusual, but could be for someone not used to noise outside of their window. We picked the hotel due to its easy walk...

We arrived in the morning from the Paris sleeper. Bags were placed in our room for later and we were treated to complimentary coffee and croissants. Nothing was too much trouble. Room and facilities were fantastic. 8 min walk with heavy rucksacks to railway station. We will be back. Thank you Arcadia.

We stayed for 3 nights in the Arcadia hotel in a superior double room. Nicely decorated, very clean and big shower room. The options for breakfast were very good and would suit all tastes. The neighbourhood is hustle and bustle in a good way with lots of places to eat and drink at reasonable prices. The hotel booked us a...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel Arcadia, a splendid, charming residence in the centre of Venice, is delighted to offer you a fine stay in the magical city suspended over the waters of the lagoon. The sophisticated elegance of this small but refined boutique hotel can be seen in its captivating and romantic furnishings, a blend of period and modern, with hints of contemporary color and an atmosphere born of a glorious past. The setting is a splendid 17th century palace that harks back to the magnificent and aristocratic age of bygone Venice, but the atmosphere is one of a welcoming hotel de charme with elegant, refined taste. The result is Hotel Arcadia, a perfect blend of East and West, contemporary color and period details. ... more   less
