Hotel Bartolomeo is rated as a Two Star hotel but should be much higher than this. First, it is in a perfect location, a couple of minutes to Rialto Bridge, 10 minutes to St Marks Square and easily accessible to all the important tourist sites. It has an assortment of good restaurants and bars nearby, most of which are not expensive. Of course if you eat or drink at Rialto Bridge or St Mark's Square it will be very expensive but come back a street or two and prices are normal. A short walk will bring you to Cannaregio where we found some lovely cafes alongside the canal to enjoy a spritz and very tasty cicchetti in a relaxed atmosphere. We were very happy with the hotel. Our room was small but we knew this when booking (we booked last minute and it was the only room left. There are bigger rooms available). However it was big enough for us and our cases. It was spotlessly clean a was cleaned every day, Breakfast was very good and was better than we had expected. When you book directly with the hotel, they include breakfast which makes it much better value than booking with one of the third party booking sites (booking.com, hotels.com etc.). 24 hour check-in was very helpful, especially as we had a late flight to Venice. The staff are very helpful and friendly which made our stay all the more enjoyable. A special mention for Martina at reception who made everything so easy from booking to checkout. Every hotel should have someone like her at reception. I would highly recommend Hotel Bartolomeo for location, value, cleanliness and especially the helpful and friendly staff.

The hotel was central to all attractions and good food. We went back to the hotel every day to take a break from viewing attractions. Room was very clean. The only thing that was bothering me was the bed and the noise. Bed was too firm for me (and I checked tripadvisor before booking). Sometimes you can hear noise from outside at night, probably few who had a few too many drinks but I accepted that was normal city life. The one caveat was there was construction next building beside our room. They were using a lot of power tools near our wall at 8am until we left. Would have been nice to be warned or had a room far from it as we were recovering from a previous long day.

This is our second stay here and it didn’t disappoint. Great location, spotlessly clean and very helpful staff. We came with friends and had a wonderful time. Good breakfast and coffee to start the day and very good value for money. Thanks especially to Christina who helped us book restaurants and gave us other tips.

rooms were nice and clean. Price is very fair for location. Downfall is the smell in the entry and stairwell and the horendous noise in the middle of the night when closing down the downstairs bar and same again in the morning, very early when opening up the shutters and so on again

Fantastic. Lovely breakfast, helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are a little small but big enough for a couple. Lovely modern luxurious finishings. We had a little trouble with the toilet flusher and it was incredibly warm in the room and the aircon didnt seem to help which is why i only rate 4 stars. Over all a wonderful experience and we would definitely visit again.
