Detailed Reviews
Characterful hotel in an excellent location. This is a very pleasant hotel with a gentle charm, obliging staff, and as good a location for tourism one could ask for. Our room was comfortable and quiet, very clean and everything worked. Breakfasts were buffet style with a range of options, comfortable seating and very efficient helpful staff. The location is central to the main attractions with Doges Palace and St Marks square within a 5 minute walk. The hotel is just off the main street housing the top designer fashion shops. If you are looking for a stylish and charming mid-price range hotel in a good location we recommend the Flora.

Perfect location, friendly and very helpful staff. Good breakfast and local spritz in the bar. Unfortunately it wasn't warm enough for us to enjoy the al fresco courtyard, which was beautiful. Very COVID-19 compliant with masks, hand sanitisers etc and have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to others.

Honestly the title says it all. We are a family of four and booked a junior suite and second room on the same floor. Both rooms were clean and had very good facilities. The suite was particularly nice with a mezzanine level, two large balconies / outdoor areas, and two bathrooms, one with a jacuzzi. The furnishing were also top notch - beautiful wooding floor, worn leather sofa, etc. What really made the Flora special was the staff though. They were exceptionally friendly and helpful. After this experience, I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else.

The Hotel Flora is a comfortable hotel in a great location and the staff is very helpful. However, the room we had (Room 37) is in the equivalent of the basement. It is located between the public toilet and the courtyard. The room is very small even by European standards. Room 37 should be the room that is given to the traveler who makes a same day room request. We made our reservation in early spring. With the ground floor location by the courtyard, we felt like we were in the courtyard since we overheard many conversations. The room has no view. The shower is a walk in shower with no berm that flooded the floor whenever we used it. When we dropped off our luggage, we were told that we would be in a room on the second floor but when we returned later in the afternoon, we given room 37. Throughout our stay, I could not shake the disappointment with our room. It did not help that I overhead someone thank the front desk for accommodating their room change request. I can’t help but feel that we were on the losing end of that switch.

I've been to Venice several times and I never had such a perfect experience. The hotel is gorgeous and affordable, the location is beyond good: literally 2 minutes walk from piazza san marco and in the chicest street in Venice with all the best stores, but it feels secluded, with an amazing garden where you have breakfast. The staff from the owners to the waiters is incredibly helpful and attentive. The hotel is the right size, a boutique hotel with few people. The design is typical Italian, not overly luxury, tacky palace, but cute sweet traditional Italian vibe: it really felt like being at my grandparents country house. Overall an amazing experience, we'll be back.

Everything about Hotel Flora is exquisite. We had asked for twin beds, which were made up impeccably with comfy duvets, fluffy pillows, and soft linens. Our lovely room overlooked the garden, and the light breeze that blew through the windows was perfect for an afternoon nap. Plenty of room for two sisters, even in the bathroom (which we hadn't been sure about based on previous reviews, but was absolutely fine!) and luxurious toiletries by Ortigia Sicilia. Breakfast was wonderful, with sweet little pots of fruit, homemade granola and yogurt, croissants and rolls. We also had drinks in the garden, with complimentary hors d'oeuvres brought to the table. Best of all, everyone on the staff was not only responsive to every request but genuinely thoughtful and kind. Can't wait to return!

We stayed the second time in hotel Flora. It is a charming hotel just behind San Marco, staff is very nice, during COVID breakfast will be served - which I prefer anyway. Hotel has a wonderful patio. Our room was quite dark and the bathroom could need a refresh.

This Hotel is one of the most best I've been to in Venice, the palazzo has an old style charm, with all its original architectural details and a beautiful enchanted garden where they serve breakfast in the morning and aperitif at night. The family that owns this place is as charming as the hotel, they are very knowledgeable about Venice and they give you precious recommendations about art, events and obviously food.
The staff is very courteous and attentive.
I highly suggest this Hotel if you want to experience Venice and feel like home.

We got two rooms for four days in the Boutique Hotel Novecento, because the Hotel Flora was closed. The Hotel Novecento, which is run by a family, seems to be furnished in the Maghrebian style, which we liked very much. The location is excellent: very quiet and only a few minutes from Piazza San Marco. Room no. 1 was ok. Room no. 7 was spacious and wonderfully wallpapered. Very friendly staff. The only negative point. The hotel sign moved with wind and squeaked. Well audible in room no. 1.

A good place to stay when exploring Venice by foot. We had a quiet room to te garden. As usual in Venice, the luggage had to be carried over several bridges. With a personal taxi the hotel could be reached through a pier, which is only 100m away. THe staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
