Set a couple of lanes away from a small square behind San Marco square, this hotel was accessed through a small path over a bridge beside one of the many beautiful canals. It was an idyllic setting, with restaurants and dining areas only a few lanes away. Perfect! The satnav works perfectly to get here.! We arrived very late on Friday evening and the concierge met us with a warm welcome. After a few moments of checking us in, we were handed the keys to our room . The room was beautiful, with a lot of well thought out storage and seating space, air conditioning that cooled it within moments and a large bathroom. We slept extremely well in the huge bed, and were able to find the exact pillows needed from the selection on the bed. Much appreciated! The buffet breakfast was included in the room price and was ample for starting the day, with hot and cold selections (I had an additional ham and cheese omelette both days-cooked to perfection), with cold meats and cheeses, cereals plus scrambled eggs and bacon, all beautifully cooked and laid out. Although we could have eaten in the lovely dining room, we chose to sit outside. Eating on the upper terrace made it all the more special, with a lemon tree in the corner aswell. The staff were very attentive and friendly, giving any advice needed on the buses, gondolas, directions and places to eat. We sat in the walled courtyard at the rear of the hotel one evening and enjoyed the plants, the candles and the peace and stillness it offered. On our final day the reception staff were only too happy to store our luggage whilst we went around Venice one last time, collecting them in the evening before heading back to the airport. I will definitely stay here again.!

The hotel and staff are fantastic. The location is excellent, being about 2 minutes walk from St Marks square, and is very easy to find. The rooms are lovely and the breakfast is excellent. There is also a wonderful private garden to relax in. The staff are brilliant and do every thing they can to make the stay as enjoyable as possible. We will definitely be going back to Casa Verardo!

I came here for four nights and had the most amazing stay. The location is incredibly central being a 5mins walk from San Marco but at the same time feels incredibly quiet and hidden because of how peaceful it is. The rooms are super well decorated, the outdoor terrace is beautiful and the breakfast delicious. But the best part of the stay was the service - the owner Pier and his team are incredibly helpful, kind and really welcome you as guests into their home. Couldn’t recommend more and happy to have found a home away from home for when I visit Venice.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Casa Verardo. Location brilliant, ideal for a quick pop-in when weather conditions suddenly change. Room cosy, clean, and quiet. A nice breakfast room with day-light coming in from both sides, good communication at booking and last but not least very friendly staff. They make you feel at home. Even ready to prepare a hot chocolate at night owl hours : much appreciated

A while back, we agreed that, when we felt ready to travel abroad once more after the pandemic, Venice would be our first call, and Casa Verardo our choice of hotel there. We have stayed in Casa Verardo several times, even in the days when it was a simple pension. In its current incarnation it is a very elegant boutique hotel. Each time that we've been since the transformation, our rooms have been very well appointed and decorated, with a comfortable bed. The hotel is clearly in an old building, and period features have been sensitively uncovered. The dining room on the first floor is spacious and light, and the courtyard at the back a pleasant place for sitting out and reading. There was a good range of food available for breakfast. Pier and the rest of the staff were unfailingly friendly, well-informed and helpdful. On top of all of this, the hotel is perfectly situated. St. Mark's Square is about five minutes' walk away, and yet Casa Verardo is in a quiet little street next to a canal. There are many good restaurants nearby, and the San Zaccaria vaporetto stop is very close too. We are very happy to recommend Casa Verardo, and don't doubt that, when we are next in Venice, this is where we will stay once more.
