Had a great stay at this hotel in Venice! The room was clean and cozy with a nice view. Great location- easy to get to and close to all the main attractions. Staff were super friendly and helpful and the area had a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Overall, we had an amazing time in Venice and we...

This place is wonderfully located just of st apostoli plaza. Finding this place was no issue as its very well signed from the main square. I cannot fault this place when it comes to cleanliness and fresh towels are provided everyday. We had the shared bathroom which was also kept very tidy even though were several guests on our floor....

We were recommended this hotel by our friend because of its location. We booked a room in Annex ( 6 rooms in this second floor separate building, just 1 minute walk from the hotel). It was quiet, clean . We paid €328 for 4 nights. Its only 5 /10 minute walk from Rialto bridge. The breakfast is average. The best...

If you're travelling on a budget then I would highly recommend this hotel. It is in a fantastic location with the Rialto Bridge a short few minutes walk away and San Marcos square about a 10-15 minute walking time. It also only took me 20 minutes by foot from the main train station and the hotel was very easy to...

This is in an alley in Venice near a canal so it is like living a real Venetian experience. It is very comfortable, clean and has a full bathroom. The only problem is that you have to carry your luggage through the alleys and take it up the stairs.

Myself and several others stayed in this hotel in June, it is comfortable enough for a lower end hotel, that is not the problem. The main building was full so they put us up in the "annex" which unfortunately does not have security which we were unaware of. On the first night there a thief came in to the hotel...

This is the first time in 30 years that a thing like that happened in our hotel since it is a very secure area! It occurred because the guest's relative ( the guest who is writing this review) did not shut the door of the annex as strongly advised everywhere and it is clearly shown in the hotel video! Thanks to...

We stayed in this hotel for one night and booked it because of the good price. I'd heard that it was hard to find and it really was! But trying to find it will teach you a lot about how to navigate Venice's crazy street system. We eventually did find it and it looked nice and like it had an...

Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. A bit difficult to find but I found that most things in Venice were a bit difficult to find. They do have a good map that they give you at check in. It's a short walk from the alilaguna airport boat stop and also a short walk to a vaporetto stop, so easy to...

We stayed in the hotel with approximately 12 others in our group.. The Hotel is in the heart of Venice.. Small rooms but very well kept by the owner and his family.. Breakfast in the morning and you came and went as you pleased always leaving your room key when you left and picking it up on your return.. We...

We arrived around two hours before check in time after a short walk from the riverbus and were given a room in the annex straight away by the receptionist, who spoke good English. The room, a double with en-suite, was fine and the continental breakfast (in the main hotel, served until 10:00) was adequate.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
