Read a lot of reviews on various hotels in Venice before deciding on the Serenissima. This hotel was excellent and the staff were superb we could not have asked for better. This was our first trip to Venice and the Serenissima definitely added to the experience. I read a couple of negative reviews and now that I have been to...

Last year I spent one month traveling around Italy and Hotel Serenissima was the best hotel I stayed. Great spot, service price and decoration. It's like 5 minutes away from St Marco square. Hope I can go back.

You should watch the older owner of this hotel make preparations for breakfast. She watches everything and sets up most of it herself. The rooms are older but very comfortable. This hotel allows you to actually stay in Venice instead of commuting from the surrounding suburbs. One morning, before dawn, my partner and I headed out for a walk. The...

We stayed at this hotel in November of 2014, and it was a great experience. Arriving there was a bit of a challenge, because we took too many wrong turns walking and dragging luggage but finally, we found it. It is very close (about 5 minutes) to Piazza San Marco and to a gondolas but without the noise. Breakfast was...

I stayed 3D2N in this hotel. Located in the heart of Venice, surroundings with main landmark, good Italian restaurant and provide amazing breakfast. I've tasted the best croissant I've ever tasted until today here! The room is small but it's so cozy and comfortable. Value for money as well! I'll bring back my family to Venice and stay in this...

The Hotel Serenissima was a little oasis amid the chaos of Venice. It was close to everything including St. Mark's Square, and was actually easy to find even after a long day of wandering the streets and canals. That's a huge plus as we got lost more than once trying to find our way around. The owners were so welcoming...

We mainly chose this place for it's location . Hotel is just few mins walk from Rialto waterbus stop and st.marks square is just few mins away. The staff is very good and probably it is the only hotel in entire Europe trip that our luggage was carried to our room. Breakfast is good , many good restaurents and shopping...

Hotel Serenissima has an excellent location, so close to all that you need to see, yet not directly on the water front. One minute walk from St Mark Square and one minute walk to the boat station. The rooms are very comfortable with nice furniture and the breakfast was healty and varying and suitable to all tastes.

Good stay for the price, very good breakfast, excellent location near Rialto bridge and Piazza San Marco. As cons, the hotel does not have elevator and the access to the above floors is done via stairways. If you stay at the third floor then be prepared for long hard way up...

Location was great. Staff friendly and helpful. Between St Marks and Rialto waterbus stops. Room was small, old fashioned and bathroom tiny. No elevator. Noisy on weekend night. Many options for Breakfast.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
