This wonderful Pensione is splendidly located overlooking three canals; one to the left, one to the right and a front view of the Grand Canal itself. Very unusually for Venice, there are delightful private gardens at both the front and back of the property. The whole place is maintained in immaculate condition, and all members of staff are excellent in every way. My wife and I visit Venice annually in the spring (except for COVID-stricken 2020 and 2021) but this was our first time to stay at Villa Maravege. It will be our first choice in future.

We first stayed at Pensione Accademia 10 years ago, and returned for a four day stay last week. We were excited to visit again, and were not disappointed. The hotel is uniquely charming and comfortable, with the most wonderful, helpful staff. Our suite was perfect for a family of three, with comfortable beds and plenty of space. We especially enjoyed sitting in the adorable courtyard having a coffee or an aperol spritz after a day of sightseeing. The location is very convenient, just off the Accademia Bridge, withing walking distance of all major sights. We will definitely visit again!

Charming hotel in a 17th century building in central Dosoduro. It’s just off the sea end of the Grand Canal very close to the Accademia. About a ten minute walk to the Piazza San Marco. We had a very comfortable, stylishly-decorated and good sized room on the first floor overlooking the rear garden with a large double bed and good bathroom. As you’d expect for Venice, it’s wonderfully quiet. Good WiFi. Breakfast was included in the room price and offered a generous buffet (because of Covid restrictions when we were there it was run by a waiter who served you what you wanted). The hotel deserves a special gold star for honouring payment for three nights’ stay we made in early 2020, which we had to cancel because of Covid but which we hoped to use at a later date. The hotel decently and generously allowed us to use our payment nearly two years later in December 2021, with nothing extra to pay. They deserve to continue to do well! We arrived in Venice by car and had no problem leaving it in the reasonably-priced pay park opposite Mestre railway station and then taking the ten-minute train from there into central Venice. We walked from the station to the hotel, which we wouldn’t recommend with luggage (it took about 40 minutes, with lots of bridges, and the route was a bit complicated). It’s much easier to take a vaporetto from the train station - the stop is five minutes’ walk from the hotel).

This little hotel is perfect for those who like character, interest and a quirky interior. Room was perfect, like a little suite with views of the canal. Good bathroom, heating and comfort. Breakfast excellent. Staff helpful and informative.

The hotel is ideally positioned, at the crossroad of the Venetian nightlife and the historical locations which make the city so magical. The room was clean with a beautiful view on the canal, and the amenities were squeaky clean. The service was impeccable and the staff made sure we felt at home, with early check-in and conciergerie luggage storage services.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The location is very good. 15 minutes away from train station by water taxi and about 20 minutes to Piazza San Marco. Lots of restaurants, bars and cafes closeby. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good but due to covid it was not self serviced. The room was cozy and clean. The hotel has its own dock which is very convenient when you want to get on a water taxi especially with suitcases. The price of private water taxis is very high though. We paid €70 for a 15 minutes ride back to the train station. The other option is taking public water taxi which is €7.5 per person but it can get very crowded and a nightmare if you’re carrying suitcases. Overall we had a good stay and will consider them if we come back to Venice again:)

Venice is stuck in the past and the Academicia plays its part in this  process, it’s Old School, if your looking to step back in time, The Academia is for you.  It boasts a great location, quite, comfortable, extremely clean, it’s own beautiful garden, and is staffed by extremely friendly,  helpful employees.

We were in Venice for five days during the Corona Pandemie and it was just the perfect place to be! The hotel location is fantastic and it is easy to get anywhere. The room was very well decorated, full of Italian charm and we even had a view of the gardens and Canal! The service was impeccable and we felt very safe and welcomed. I will certainly stay in the same hotel next time that I am in Venice.

Stayed between 12th and 16th October at this great hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful providing recommendations of places to eat and drink, booking a water taxi for us and providing warnings about the weather conditions during the time we were there. They are very aware of covid 19 requirements as shown by how they are running the breakfast they provide having introduced a number of measures to ensure social distancing can take place. The location is excellent, all attractions are within easy walking distance and if required there is a vaporette stop two minutes walk away. I would happily recommend this hotel to family and friends I intend to book again when I revisit Venice.

This is an amazing, quiet and friendly place. It is close to Accademia and the vaporetto, the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is great. I strongly recommend this place for anyone on a weekend trip or a longer stay. I am a returning visitor to Venice for more than 20 years and this will become my first option from this point onwards.
