Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

No room service, breakfast disappointing, no body to serve a drink after breakfast to dinner. The rooms were clean though one day my room wasn’t serviced. I came down for breakfast one day and they had closed before their posted hours. Very disappointed. Won’t go back.

La Fenice never disappoints over the decades I've stayed there. Situated in a quiet piazza away from the crowds next to the elegant, small Opera house. The rooms are clean, quiet and well situated to look out over the piazza or the canal behind the hotel. They are not large nor overly elaborate and some might need walking some stairs to reach the bathroom within the room as ours's did. The staff is the best this hotel has to offer from the friendly and helpful front desk staff to the breakfast staff that served a delicious breakfast and great cappuccinos. You won't be disappointed by the location nor the staff if you choose to stay there. If you are interested in Opera this hotel oozes with history of past stars who stayed there while preforming next door.

I am staying in this hotel since more than 40 years, year by year, sometimes twice a year.. Also during Corona I was welcomed in a very special "séparée" (called Sant'Angelo). The address is most comfortable for me, because all my "friends" from Quatrocento to Cinquecento are living near by, even the saints San Marco, Son Giorgio, San Zaccario ....so I feel always very sure and protected and awefully happy in MY CASTLE.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the location of the hotel was excellent. Only a short walk from St Marks Square, and many of the other attractions: we walked to Peggy Guggenheim museum, Bridge of sighs, Basilica, Academic Galler etc The room was well air conditioned and clean, and the bed was comfortable. We would return here again without doubt

We booked quite last minute in this hotel, after deciding to come to Italy for our summer holiday. After reading the reviews and more so the price for Venice in August we decided to stay, and we absolutely made the right decision. The rooms are full of rustic Venetian charm, it has been the most characteristic hotel of our stay so far. The location is also simply perfect we were stood in San Marco square at 7am before the hustle and bustle of tourists as it’s literally 5 minutes away. The front of house staff were always really nice to deal with and I found it quaint we had to hand our keys in when we went out. We got the last room available for our two night stay, and let me tell you the rate was cheaper then our evening meals. This hotel will be one of the talking points of our trip for sure, it also has a lovely restaurant at the side of it which was simply beautiful at night. Don’t be put off by any negative reviews and go with the flow and enjoy it’s Venetian charm!

This is a nice hotel with basic facilities and fairly close (5 mins walk) to St Marks Square. Be warned though the breakfast is basic and there is no gym. You may also have to carry your bags at least a few steps as the lift does not cover every area equally. Please be careful that the bathroom sometimes does not fully drain and if you open the door too soon - the water may leak out. This is common in most of the older buildings in Italy.

The hotel is a lovely place to stay and is perfectly located not too far from either San Marco or the Rialto Bridge, and is right next to several good restaurants. The rooms use keys which you have to hand in at reception before you leave for the day, but there are staff there 24 hours who are very friendly and gave me some great local recommendations. My room was well furnished and very clean, the only issue was that any noise from the next room was very easy to hear through the wall.

This place is centrally located, but is on a quiet little piazza that makes you feel relaxed and out of the hustle and bustle the busier parts of the city. It was like a little retreat at the end of the day. Loved the breakfast that was included, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

Every aspect of this beautiful hotel is ideal. Location, staff,l and rooms - all at good value! Very easy to get to from the San Angelo Alilaguna stop- about a 5 minute walk. About the same to San Marco. A wonderful set of stores and restaurants under 3 minutes and a stone’s throw from the opera house. The staff are exceptional. Friendly, knowledgeable, and available 24 hours a day. This is my fourth time staying and I’ve loved each room I’ve seen- all unique and charming. Breakfast is wonderful, and the setting feels like a living room. Relax as delicious cappuccino’s are brought to you, enjoying conversation and art that reflects the history of this very special hotel. Book here with confidence.

Lovely hotel, comfortable bed and great shower. Window screens allow for windows to be open for fresh air without any mosquitos getting in. :) Wonderful fresh air in April. Air Conditioning was also an option. Breakfast is wonderful, hearty continental, plenty of coffee. Service also lovely. Location is perfect, near Saint Mark's but in a quieter square for some escape from the crowds. Highly recommend, we would love to stay here again.
