I chose this hotel because it was very close to the station. It is only a 5 minute walk away, just turn left and it's along a little lane and is well signed. The room was very tiny, but I stayed only one night so that was ok. Arrived early and had to leave my luggage, but unfortunately they don't... More

Actually, location is perfect. When you exit from Venice Railway station, just 10 min.to go hotel by walking. I suggest ferrovia location to stay in Venice, otherwise you should take vaperotto to go inside of Venice. If you arrive to Venice lately and you want to relax immediately, this hotel is good one. One room for improvement for hotel management.... More

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in June. It is extremely conveniently situated and is good value. It's true, it is a little in need of tlc but it's clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were perfectly adequate. The staff were very friendly and the beds were comfortable. Would recommend.

We were in Venice for the first time, coming from Verona by train, and wanting to drag luggage only a short distance. We didn't know that porters were available at reasonable cost. Despite being close to the train station, the hotel is very quiet. Generally, the hotel is rather "tired" and requires a bit of renovation, but our room was... More

The Hotel Florida is a clean and reasonably quiet hotel about 2 blocks from the train station. The room was small but comfortable. There were no amenities such as shampoo. Breakfast was included and included a selection of breads and pastries, yogurt, cereal, juice and coffee/tea. We were looking for an inexpensive hotel close to the train station providing good... Very reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff. Especially Stephano was very helpful and made sure our stay was comfortable. This hotel has 24 hours concierge. Breakfast is included. If you need breakfast to go then inform the concierge a day before and it will be ready at the time you would like. Tips from my experience: 1. Do not... More

We were a party of 2 couples travelling to Venice for the first time. We wanted to be close to the train station and this hotel is NEXT to it. So, excellent location, room size was a bit small, the one bathroom was a bit awkward but the other bathroom was fine. It would have been nice to have had... More

Nice for the location and price. Place needs a upgrade. Staff are front desk and very helpful. Free breakfast was ok. Our room was quiet, very basic. Next time i will look for a min. 3 star hotel. Area was close to port. Very convenient. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was very clean.

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
