Hotel rooms were spacious and had everything we needed. Location is a bit far from center but I enjoyed walking to and from hotel. Plus it also means you have a good place to rest away fro crowds. Breakfast was good.More

The photos of the hotel were not misleading. The lobby area and front of the hotel were just as pictured on TripAdvisor.
Also, the front desk staff was very friendly and accommodating. However, they didn't sell postage.
However, I suspect that I had about the...More

We stayed at Hotel Giorgione for two nights last week and were very impressed to find such a little jewel in the heart of Venice. One often reads how Venetians suffer due to all the tourists, especially since the city is flooded by cruise ship'...More

Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby
shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.

You have to remember that Venice is surrounded by water and there are no streets as we know them,,, just narrow canals. There is only 1 road and 1 train track connecting Venice to the mainland .
The most direct way into Venice ( and the way I took) is by water bus. It's about $20 for a round-trip ticket. The water buses take you directly from the airport to a water bus stop NEAR your hotel. My water bus stop was VERY close to my hotel-- Hotel Giorgione -- about 4 minutes walk to the hotel.
There is a train from the airport into Venice but, you will then have to walk from the train station to the hotel which is a 15-20 minute walk or take a water taxi from the train station to your hotel.
Lastly, you can take a regular bus into Venice but again, you'll have to walk 20 minutes or take a water taxi to your hotel.
I recommend the water bus! It drops you off closest to the hotel.
My trip to Venice was in April and I did not use the pool, so I am not sure of the cost. I don't believe my room had a robe or slippers in it. I was not charged for towels. Have fun!!
