The location of this hotel is excellent for the center of Venice. Yes, we got lost finding it, but is all part of going to the city. All the staff were excellent, polite and helpful, and as we had to leave early on the last day, got us a bag of Breakfast goodies to take with us. Our room, was...

The hotel is in the heart of Venice only a 5min walk away from st marks square and all the top attractions! The actual hotel is slightly dated however our room was clean and tidy. The only problem we had was the shower door being broken but we didn't have time to talk to management as this happened towards the...

Good position near San Marco square, the center of Venice. All the staff was very kind and put attention for every problems that we have and they suggest us the typical restaurant and shop. Very good breakfast with some delicious cake and cappuccino of course! But they have also international breakfast with ham and chees. The room was simply and...

Well placed for exploring. Warm, comfortable rooms kept immaculately. I don't understand criticisms of décor, it is exactly in style. Great selection at breakfast. Yes the room is small but there's everything you need to start off the day. Would be happy to return any time.

Found this little hotel on Expedia and it was the location that really drew us in. Its a nice little hotel, three stars is about right. The rooms are spacious, clean and the beds nice and comfortable. Venice appears very quiet come the evening so certainly no sleeping problems. The breakfast was lovely, a little cosy so be prepared to...

So this hotel will always hold special memories because it was here my fiancé proposed ☺️. The room itself is small/medium sized, we don't tend to mind smaller rooms because we are always out of them, the bathroom very clean with a wonderful power shower that was so nice at the end of the day full of walking. The included...

This is a small but very cosy hotel very near all main attractions. Only a few minutes walk to Piazza San Marco the main square of venice lots of shops and cafes. Also a few minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and bridge of sighs. The hotel does not have a bar or restaurant but there are plenty in the...

Spent 3 nights staying here 12-15th of February. Amazing location, couldn't get anywhere better, right between st marks square and Rialto bridge. Ideal for couples. Requested a certain type of room as it was a special occasion and they granted it. Could not recommend this place enough. Would stay again if returning to Venice.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
