a little tricky to find at first, but after that it's in a great location. it's away from the main tourist attractions - which we preferred and didn't mind the walk to the sites. conveniently located close to the train/bus stops across the bridge. with...More
Ancient house, exquisitely reformed, warm, very good wifi, no-nonsense checkin and check out. Excellent location, incredible beautiful surroundings, 150m from a transportation hub and airport bus. Never thought to find in venice a place such as this.
The hotel looks quite run down from the outside, but that's the only negative in my opinion. Friendly staff on arrival, showed us to our rooms, recommendations for dining etc. I absolutely love the room, classic style, comfortable, warm and spotlessly clean. Plenty of towels...More
Lovely little hotel within 5 minutes walk of train station. Room was spotless clean and comfortable. Owner very helpful and provided a map with info of where the major attractions are. Good value for Venice. Will definitely recommend!
We chose this hotel based on location (near the Venice train & bus station) and price. The proprietors were very helpful—they provided us with adaptors for our electronics since our luggage was lost. Private room with nice canal view. Clean and comfortable. Mini fridge in...More
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture

universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighbourhood identity.

Hi,
The best bet is the ACTV (Airport bus to and from Piazzale Roma). The journey takes about 20 minutes. Looking at the timetable, there appears to be no bus between the hours of 12.40 am and 4.35 am, so you will need to take the 12.40 am bus or a taxi. Try also the train information.
It is a very quick walk to the hotel from Piazzale Roma. They are a lovely family and hotel and public transport to all areas is good from Piazzale Roma. We have walked around the Piazzale Roma area late at night and haven't had any bad experiences; I think Venice is generally okay, but just be sensible and aware.
I'm sorry, I did list the web addresses, but have received a notification that I cannot include HTML or website links in posts, so you will need to find them without assistance.
Try the ACTV Venice Airport sites.
Have a great time! :-)
