This was our first stay at the Gritti Palace having visited Venice 4x before staying at the former Europa and Regina. It was perfect. From the meet and greet at the airport to check-in to checkout it was everything one expects in a 5 star hotel. And quite a bit more. We cannot give enough compliments to the staff especially Antonella at breakfast to the main Barman in the afternoons and evenings. Service is professional and prompt but also warm and welcoming. The Reva Terrace is the best place for anything..:a little aperitivo, light lunch, etc. Our room with a view of Piazza Giglio was spacious and quiet. Bathroom with separate shower and tub and two sinks. Housekeeping services were excellent and laundry was quick to return. When we come back, The only thing I would change is to pay the extra $ to have a view of the Canal. Worth every single penny!…
Wow, oh wow. This was my first time staying in a Venetian Palace, and it really lives up to all the “palaces from the 1400’s” hype we get in America. The English language may not provide ample superlatives to describe this place, so I will say simply: if you can stay here, you should stay here. How many other opportunities do you get to live like an aristocrat from 500 years ago? It’s a lavish, ornamental, elegant hotel; the breakfast is delightful; the staff is beyond elite, and I absolutely intend to conquer my neighboring lands when I go home so I can accumulate enough treasure to return to Venice and stay here again. Bravo, good sirs and madams. Bravo!
From the moment you arrive at the private 'dock' on a water taxi you feel like royalty! The elegant foyer areas make you feel like you are on a movie set. The staff were exceptionally professional and gracious. The rooms were gorgeous and well appointed. The restaurant outdoor setting was gorgeous and the service impeccable. The indoor bar area for pre-dinner/appertivo cocktails had the most elegant service! Location was perfect. Our only criticism is that we ordered coffee delivered for our early morning departure and it arrived a full hour before the requested time - which meant an hour less of sleep on an already early morning but other than that the experience was great.
Our stay at The Gritti Palace was sensational. It's a beautiful building filled with gorgeous furnishings and artwork and you can just feel the history in every room you walk into. Our room was out of this world and unbelievably comfortable. The staff were all exceptionally polite, friendly and helpful. The food was gorgeous, breakfast in particular. The location was spot on too. St Marks just a few minutes away yet Gritti is tucked away in a nice, cosy & quiet little corner away from all the hubbub. Gorgeous. (10/02/2022)
The Gritti Palace was not our usual style but that was what made it even more special. Located right on the Grand Canal, from the moment you pull up in your water taxi you realize you are somewhere special. The location was perfect, a stone's throw away from Saint Mark's Square and in walking distance to everything. We travelled in November and have to say after several previous visits in the summer this is definitely my favourite time to visit Venice; the city is so much quieter and more atmospheric. The service was great, the transfer from the airport both ways was seamless. We arrived late after a delayed flight and the restaurant had just closed but they stayed open for us and we had one of the best lunches of our trip in our own private dining room. The rooms were a decent size and you felt like you were indeed sleeping in a Palace. Worth noting that as part of the Marriott Group as a Bonvoy Member you can get some great deals, especially if you book in advance. On our last morning we sat on the terrace, sun on our faces, coffee in hand and didn't want to leave. Perfect trip, cant wait to return.…
Loved our time at the Gritti. It was our first time in Venice and decided to splurge on this hotel. As a Titanium Marriott member, we were upgraded to a suite facing the canal and we weren't disappointed. The room is impeccably designed, the bed itself was so comfortable and the sitting area was a nice way to stretch our legs after a long day of travel. We had cocktails in the bar downstairs. We also opted for the daily breakfast and it was decadent. The service throughout the hotel was friendly and impeccable. We hope to return soon. The hotel also helped arrange for transfers between the airport/train station via private boat. Everyone who assisted us along the way was so friendly and accomodating.
The Gritti Palace is the most lovely, comfortable hotel filled with beautiful furniture and glass. The staff were all exceptionally polite and helpful. Highly recommended and I hope that hotels like this one all manage to survive as it was clearly a quiet period. I really enjoyed my stay.
A famous, old hotel right on the Grand Canal opposite the Salute church. It has been host to a bevy of celebrities for 100 years. Recently renovated and absolutely lovely. The staff all speak English and the concierge can arrange anything in Venice you might desire. The food in the restaurant is exquisite if pricey. Our room was a basic king double, but the walls were padded and covered in fabic, all the glass was Murano glass, the bath was all marble with Acqua de Parma toiletries. With the windows closed, it was very quiet. There is nothing so civilized as a late afternoon Negroni on the terrace on the Grand Canal.
If you are looking for a hotel in Venice - it’s The Gritti - only The Gritti. We stayed at The Gritti for 5 wonderful nights in October and I know that I have said this in other reviews, but I did not want to leave. It’s a great feeling to have at a hotel! We stayed in the Patron Suite which was magnificent. The location is probably the best in Venice - close to everything but just far enough away. The restaurant and bar were lovely both inside and out on the wonderful terrace. Above all the staff made our experience complete - thank you for everything. I can’t wait to return.
This was the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed at. There was such an amazing view of the water, the interior & rooms were beyond stunning, and the food was delicious. We would take a boat back to the hotel after going out, and there would be employees there to escort us back into our room. Couldn't ask for more.
