Stayed in Hotel Colombina with my wife for 3 nights. It is in a perfect location just a short walk to St Mark's square and approx 15 mins from Rialto Bridge. The hotel is clean and welcoming and staff were very helpful when we arrived....More
We were well rewarded by reading the reviews! Fabulous boutique hotel in an extremely convenient position with really helpful staff, beautiful bedroom overlooking the canal and great breakfast. Easy to access hotel 5 mins stroll from San Marco. Warm welcome from helpful staff in traditional attire. Cosy, boutique style hotel. Upgraded to apartment suite on arrival - nice touch- room well presented, clean, if a little dated. Didn't expect a jet stream bath,...More
As me and my boyfriend arrived late Saturday night to Colombina, roughly around 12 a.m we were greeted instantly by the man at the front desk who literally knew my first and last name and said he was expecting us! I knew from that moment...More
It was a short but sweet stay indeed. The hotel is strategically located with a mere walking distance to all major spots and water terminals. The staffs were very helpful and hospitable. The rooms were very warm and cosy with its own Venetian touch.
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and
Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
I can't recall whether the main hotel has an elevator or not. You'll need to check with them. If you're located in the annexe next door to the hotel then, no it doesn't. The stairs are quite steep and you need to be fit... More
I can't recall whether the main hotel has an elevator or not. You'll need to check with them. If you're located in the annexe next door to the hotel then, no it doesn't. The stairs are quite steep and you need to be fit particularly if you're located the upper floors.
