I booked this hotel because it is close to both the train station and the cruise terminal. Even though it is a distance from St Marks square, we navigated with minimal problems and enjoyed several water taxi rides to get around. The room was Venetian ornate and very clean. Breakfast was made to order and fresh. Our view of the Grand Canal was worth the view!
It took more than two years to return to normal and I am pleased to report that Santa Chiara is as good as expected. Excellent location right at the entrance to the island, close to railway station, overlooking the Western entrance to Grand Canal. All services are in place, the old staff is as always super competent and friendly, ready to help to organize your stay in Venice and around Laguna. The standard is high as always. At the beginning of May there were still few pandemics rules in place in Venice, as face masks obligatory at all public transports, but otherwise the place is as open and as friendly as always. The state of art underground car park, the only private parking in Venice, works very well. The hotel offers again beautifully restored motorboat. All tourist attractions are open and working normally. The public areas were a little less crowded than previously at this time of year, which is actually good for tourists, because the access is much easier.…
We stayed here for 4 super days. The reception staff couldn’t have been more friendly or knowledgeable!! Davis our breakfast waiter was so good! Thank you All for our amazing time in Venice. It is a very convenient place to stay - easy access to the water bus station & coach terminal from the airport so no dragging cases over bridges to get anywhere.
Have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Santa Chiara. Had an amazing time. We stayed in the rooftop suite and had breakfast served to us al fresco in the morning with views over the Grand Canal, pretty special.Lovely big room with huge comfy bed. Great location we arrived in the bus from the airport and the hotel was literally across from the bus station. You could pretty much walk all over or the water buses stops were about a minutes walk. Great location. Very friendly helpful staff. If we ever return to Venice this would be where we stay and will recommend to anyone we know coming to Venice.
Had an amazing stay, The staff especially Lorenzo were magnificent, thank you so much Lorenzo for all your help with mum's and my passenger locator form. Beautiful room, great breakfast and an awesome start to our holiday. If ever I get back to Venice will definitely stay again. Karen and Irene
We stayed here in February 2022. The Hotel has been recently refurbished and we stayed in one of the new rooms in the annex. Although the view was disappointing as it overlooked the bus station, the room was exceptional. It was beautifully designed and furnished. Really high spec. The staff were helpful at all times. Breakfast was so enjoyable because you literally sat down and the waiter asked what you would like and delivered it to your table. and the service was excellent. The breakfast room has large picture windows looking the canal and was very pleasant. The only down side is that this hotel is quite far from the centre of Venice. Its a good half an hours walk to get to St Marks Square.
This hotel is in a very convenient location adjacent to Piazzalle Roma and only a few steps from the Vaporetto stops. We were in room 105 with a small balcony facing the canal (Rio Nuovo) towards the park (Giardini Papadopali). Check-in was very smooth. The gentlemen at the reception desk were very helpful throughout our our stay (particularly Alexx and Daniel). Our room included a delicious breakfast which included the following choices: coffee/tea; juice; a basket of rolls and croissants; fresh fruit slices; yogurt and cooked eggs. Many thanks to Alexx, Dennis, and the lady chef from India who helped each morning. Room 105 was fairly spacious with a very comfortable bed. It was nice to have two large windows and the doorway that opened onto the canal. There is a small refrigerator and an Italian brand coffee maker. There is a fair bit of boat traffic on the canal which was a little noisy at times, but we got used to it quickly and enjoyed seeing the variety of boats on the canal. We were traveling back to the States and required a COVID test which was readily available at a nearby Red Cross clinic (you should make online reservations and the cost was 22 Euro each). The only minor inconveniences were that one morning the breakfast room staff did not speak English well so we could not put in our order. On our checkout the hotel had arranged for a taxi to the airport which never showed up without even a call. Overall the experience at the hotel was wonderful and we highly recommend it.…
I visited the hotel in January 2022 and stayed for 3 nights with my friend. Our room was the Deluxe city view room, which was really clean and beautifully furnished. The staff was really kind and they helped us with anything we asked (even with a technical issue we were facing). The location is really close to the bus station and it's only a bus ride from the airport. Plenty of restaurants, cafes, bars and shops nearby. It exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it for your stay in Venice!
What a find!!! A beautiful hotel that serves the most delicious made-to-order breakfast in Venice looking out a large picture window facing the canal. Everywhere you look and walk the property is full of antiques and old-world Venice, but not surrendering any of today's needs and comforts. Incredible room with a view of the canal and what a shower I would go back to just for the shower not to mention the incredibly comfy bed. Everything in Venice is a short walk, but when you have your luggage let me tell you with the narrow alleys and cobblestone walkways you don't want to have to travel too far with the luggage. The Santa Chiara is minutes to the bus and train so coming from train or airport or at the end of your stay you literally walk out the door and within 3 minutes you arrive. The staff is awesome very friendly and knowledgeable and gave me some great recommendations for tours and meals. I really can't recommend this amazing property more. Enjoy all the pictures that Venice has to offer :)…
Loved our six days here. Had an amazing room with a side view of the canal and of the street. With that, no evening or night noise, unless the window was open. Rooms are good sized for Italy, with a great bathroom, complete with rain shower and side jets. Appears the room are newly remodeled. Wood beams, which seem oddly in an Italian city, but so it goes. Wood beam in the shower was amazing. Room key activated all the electrical, which was new to us. Beds large (two together) with body pillows. Great staff at the desk and a wonderful breakfast, bothered only by obnoxious guests. Nothing staff can do with know it all New Yorkers. This is well located for the Vaporetto stop by the car park, one of the first stops on the line down the canal. Would go back in a moment. Is as far from St. Marks as you can get and still be on the canal, but we found that to be a plus.…
