Lovely hotel - truly beautiful garden, gorgeous rooms and good breakfast. Easy reach to the centre of the tourist parts of Venice but far enough away to be slightly apart and the better for it - Venice does get massively crowded so to be able to retreat to quiter canals and local restaurants and bars is really special.

We took a family trip to Venice and stayed for 2 nights. The hotel is incredibly decorated with marble frescos, Murano Glass and gorgeous carpeting. The service is top notch and the location is a good one-quieter part of Venice and has a complimentary boat shuttle if you choose to use it. You can also take an easy walk to...

We have enjoyed stays in some of the best hotels in Venice including The Danieli but The Boscolo Venezia is the place we will return to next time we are in Venice. A warm welcome by Pablo and a much appreciated upgrade made us feel we had made a smart decision choosing The Boscolo Venezia. Spacious accommodation in a historical...

An absolutely fantastic break and excellent location away from the hustle of Venice. A leisurely 15 minute walk to the Rialto bridge although a boat service exists every morning. The hotel rooms are excellent as was the breakfast each morning. Highly recommend the hotel.

This hotel is is a perfect spot for travelers touring Venice. We used our Marriott points, and they upgraded us, and treated us like kings. We loved the location, just far enough away from the major tourist attractions, but close enough to get there in minutes. We didn't want to stay in a location where the streets were packed and...

This was our first visit to Venice. We chose this hotel because it was part of the Marriott family. As we have found with other Autograph hotels, we found it to be luxury with comfort. The hotel is located in a more residential district of Venice. We arrived on a Sunday morning to quiet streets leading to the hotel -...

This is an 'Old World' style hotel. Classic Italian rooms, gilded mirrors, heavy brocade fabric, and marbled bathrooms. The garden is a real surprise and worth meandering through. The hotel manager was fantastic and went out of her way to assist us more then once with questions. We found this location to be quiet and a very pleasant walk to...

We were welcomed with a warm smile and excellent friendly attitude. The room very spacious and dust free. We enjoyed the complimentary welcome sweets delivered to the room freshly baked. The toiletry was perfect beautiful aromatic soap bar for washing the face. Clean towels. Breakfast area small but very warm and homely. Prefect water flow in the toilet. Complementary taxi...

Beautiful hotel, if a little smaller than other Boscolo hotels, but the usual brilliant, friendly staff. Only downside is that for a 5 star hotel you expect tea/coffee making facilities in your room. There are facilities near Reception but we prefer to have our own in the room. Otherwise would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel is a beautiful palazzo with the rarity for Venice of a large private garden. In a charming and relatively quiet part of the city it is very easy to reach from the airport and provides a regular boat service to San Marco. Rooms are spacious, as are the public areas. Breakfast is good, though the breakfast seating area...

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighbourhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighbourhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
