I have stayed at this hotel many, many times ( usually at least 3 times a year ) and i can honestly say that we never get tired of this hotel ! The location is amazing , so close to public transport and private transport both being directly in front of the hotel. On this visit we were very pleased... More

The hotel is adjacent to the Danieli, opposite the water bus station and 2 minutes away from the Plaza San Marco. It was an ideal base for a short trip of just 2 days as we could hop on and off the water buses and explore the main part of the city. Our room was a 'Standard' one. Whilst a... More

Excellent central location overlooking St Marks basin, you can walk to everywhere from here. Hotel is very Italian, and I was delighted with it. The hotel helped me plan a surprise for my husbands 50th and the staff could not have been better. From the food to the wine.. we were not disappointed. Thank you. However I would not stay... More

We spent our first three night in Italy, including the jet-lagged travel day, at this hotel in Venice. The room was cozy, clean, comfortable and very Venetian. The service people were all very polite, professional, helpful, and English-friendly. The rooms and bathrooms are quite small but very elegant and beautifully decorated. It is great for a romantic getaway. You will... More

Just Superb! Gorgeous rooms, incredible food and the most fantastic staff imaginable! Deigo,Stefano and Stanislav make magic! Our daughter's wedding reception was on the roof top terrace. The staff turned it into a flower filled candle lit dream. We were overjoyed! The food looked like pieces of art and was delicious thanks to Chef Maximilian. Our family ate, drank and danced the night... More

Near everything. Great service! The room is better than the executive room we had at the London Hilton on park lane. The dinner experience has also been excellent, plus as a bonus for staying here you get 20%off your tab. Small boutique hotel. The water taxis and gondolas are just out the door. Hope this helps!

The rooms and bathrooms are very small but are comfortable. The hotel is easy to find and is in a great location on the water front. The hotel also offers a free breakfast which is nice. We would stay here again and recommend it to friends!

The hotel has a good standard of accommodation and staff were helpful- they were kind enough to lend us an adaptor as we has lost ours. The position - overlooking the lagoon, and around the corner from St Mark's Square, is perfect. Also, ideal for gondolas and vaporetto service for various routes, including the airport. We were upgraded to a... More

Spent 3 nights here at the end of October. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean, décor was in keeping with the location and sensibilities of the hotel. Perfect location for visiting all the top attractions. Lovely view over main canal. Very airy accomodations (some of the other hotels on minor canals a little claustrophobic). Rooms typically italian in décor (either love it or hate it), but bathrooms spotless and modern. Small gym with enough equipment to keep a traveler sort-of-fit after all the wine and pasta consumption.... More

Staying in Castello

Neighbourhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighbourhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
