We have had amazing weekend in Venice 18-20 march 2017. The hotel is close to Rialto Bridge and right in the heart of the city, our host Pierro was charming helpful and non-intrusive. The room was large well appointed and quite beautiful. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Venice! Chris Olga

It was raining so hard the day we arrived, we did not walk to the B&B we took the boat. they drop us off right at the market. The Bed and Breakfast is really closed but hard to find if you are tired and soaking wet. But when you do, you realized your are closed to everything; fresh fruits, fish...

I arrived on Sunday and the girl was very kind and pleasant. Gave us all the information we needed to know about the hotel - breakfast, wifi etc. Firstly, the wifi only worked in the hall and not in the room we had (room 3). I emailed regarding this as it states on my confirmation wifi in ALL areas. I...

What a disappointment! This so called b & b is located right next to the fish market and fruit and vegetable market. But when we checked in the owner showed us the fridge where we woukd find cheese (like the little packages of laughing cow) for breakfast. He also pointed out the kettle to boil wat er to make instant...

This a surprising comfortable place with good location. It is near the Railto bridge and market and within easy walking distance to San Marco. The room is decent size, to be expected of a single. Although there was no airconditioning, a fan was provided. It was cool anyway. The shared bathroom was clean and there were plenty of room to...

The BB is very well located, in the island of venezia, easy to find (just take the vaporetto 01 at the station and take the Rialto Mercato and walk for 5 min). It doesn't have a outdoor with the name, so you have to know the name of the street (Calle dei Botteri) and the number (1623). It hás a...

Not only is this location very easy to find from two different stations, but it is a gem! Rafaella is attentive and accommodating. There are three rooms on the second floor with a nice open common area where she provides a place for a light breakfast. The rooms are sizable and immaculate. We stayed in an ensuite room. The bath...

I often stay in "Le Republiche Marinare" for holiday or for business or both in Venice and it's always a great pleasure. The bedrooms and bathrooms are really clean, the beds wrapped with fresh and white sheets and the towels are soft. A really good quality/price indeed. On top of this, the owners are extremely kind and helpful, always good...

First of all - great location, few steps from Rialto bridge. You neet to take boat 1 or 2. All other Venice there are sight directions to Rialto so you will always find way to the hotel. We had a room with internal bathroom, room and bathroom are very big (especially for Italy), there is evrything necessery - towels, hairdryer,...

Its 15 minutes walk from the Venice Train station. Do yourself, Take the ferry, We were the smart ones which didn't and learnt it the hard way. It may look expensive but its worth it. The rooms were amazing. The bed was extremely nice. We spent only 2 nights however we had no complains. The owner has a great sense...

Staying in San Polo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighbourhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
