Unfortunately despite its excellent location right next to the Rialto Bridge (we looked out onto it from our bedroom window) this hotel does not have the facilities I would expect from a 4 star hotel. The room itself was comfortable and well appointed but the lack of a lounge and bar and a restaurant were major disappointments. The breakfast were...

I came here with my fiancé for a few days getaway and a pre-wedding photo shoot. I chose this hotel due to the selling point of its location. We had a room facing the Rialto Bridge- the view was amazing. The windows blocked out all the noise if they were closed and if you wanted to feel part of the...

The rooms have antique furniture and are clean. The best part of this hotel is it's location. The water bus leaves you right in front of the hotel. The Rialto Bridge is right outside the front door. You can walk 10 minutes past all the shops and restaurants to San Marco Square, It has a breakfast room is bright decorated in...

We stayed here in February 2017, had an amazing time, were a little disappointed on realising that our room was not in the main hotel but down an alleyway, but the room was lovely, very big, and decorated in a lovely old style. The people on Reception and the waitresses in the Breakfast room were very nice and polite, the...

Excellent location and room view. Rialto Bridge was just right there out of our window. Bathrooms need renovation. But they were clean enough. The hotel employees were very friendly and helpful, especially the ones at the reception desk.

Was a little disappointed after I had booked a room to realise that I wasn't in the main hotel especially once I had read the reviews, however the room that we were given (down a little alleyway a minute from the hotel) was huge and very nicely decorated in an old world charm and very central, the breakfast was lovely...

Great location, and easy to take the vaporetto right from the airport to the front door. Old world charm in the rooms with firm mattresses and big towels. The continental breakfast was very hearty and serve for a good part of the day. Rialto Bridge is right outside the door and a quick walk to Piazza San Marco.

We stayed at the Rialto Hotel from 5th February to 9th February. The welcome at the hotel was warm and the staff excellent. Our room was compact, but very comfortable. The weather for the first two days was not great, but there was an ample supply of umbrellas free to use by guests. The buffet breakfast selection covered most tastes...

This is an old property but very well maintained and every room is different. We had booked a junior suite for 2 nights. Although the room was not very big, the room decor was very nicely done with bright colors, the bathroom was well equipped and clean. The wardrobes were spacious and had a safe which is needed to keep...

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
