Recently my sister and I stayed here while we were on a tour of Italy and this was the first hotel we stayed at. From the moment we walked through the doors, it was a excellent experience from start to finish. The entire staff was friendly, helpful, and welcoming. They are located right off the Grand Canal, you step off...

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions both because of the quality of the hotel and the location. St Marks Square is about 20 steps from the front door. On one occasion I stayed during Carnival and I could step outside during the evening and see the show in the Square in less than two minutes. Also the...

We approached this hotel by water taxi from the airport. The spectacular journey took about 25 minutes - some time at speed in open water and some slowly along narrow canals. The entrance for the hotel opens directly on to its own private quay. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Our room was elegant and very spacious with an entrance...

The first thing that hits you about this hotel is the location, superbly located a stone's throw away from St Mark's. A special thanks must go to Laura who checked us in. She immediately made us feel hugely welcome and even managed to find us an upgrade! The room was superb, if you splash out for a Junior Suite I...

Dear Guest, Indeed the location of our property is a precious one and give to visitors the possibility to organize any kind of activity this city allow. Thank you for taking the time to highlight this and other points like our Marco Polo ball room, where we do serve daily breakfast, which ceiling frescoed from the Tiepolo’s pupils dated back...

This magnificent old hotel is in the heart of Venice. It's beautiful and charming. It is just steps away from Saint Mark's Square, the gondola, transportation up and down the Grand Canal, shopping right outside the doors and an abundance of restaurants nearby. Of course, the hotel offers fine dining, as well.

Just ended a 3 night stay at the Baglioni in Venice. The first 'like' is the location. It might seem like a simple thing but in Venice it's a big deal. Venice is a maze of tiny streets and everything is hard to find. Every day I saw people dragging suitcases through the cobble stone streets and up and down...

Poor quality of a hotel. Very poor marble floors. Awful beds with two single beds put together loosely to try and make a king bed. What a terrible joke. A typical substandard hotel that is overpriced. The breakfast was minimal and of poor quality.

Dear Guest, We are terribly sorry for what you describe, let us express our utmost concern for your review after your one night quick stay. This was my first trip to Venice and I stayed here in January for two nights on the recommendation of a friend. Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
