After 3 days in Rome we travelled by train to Venice. The vaporetto drops you just one small street away from Ca' Dalisera and one street away from St Marks! The ease of getting to the accommodation (and its location) cannot be overstated. 99% of people we saw were dragging their own suitcases and bags and many walking around looking...

Best B&B that we have ever been too. Good location (a minute or two walk from San Marco square and close to waterbus station), very clean, spacious bedroom and bathroom and Michaelangelo the owner is the best host. He's a funny character and very helpful. Plus the caretaker is very lovely too. We highly recommend this place to anyone going...

You can't get a decent hotel this close to St Marks square for a sensible cost. Ca' Dalisera has the disadvantage that you have to pay cash, and there is no reception, but if you're careful with your room card it's an excellent choice. Good room, good en-suite, and a fridge stocked with soft drinks and beers for just 1...

This is a cute B&B right next to St Mark's square. It was nice to be able to go back to our room mid day to change for dinner or drop off shopping bags. There was AC but it did not seem to work and you did not have control of the temperature. There was a HUGE book of rules...

Good things about this place are  location, clean room and bathroom, good TV reception .  Our room #3 was noisy in the morning : it is located on the second floor of narrow cobble street with several business which have yearly loud deliveries starting at around 7 am by  noisy carts. After traveling Italy for 4 weeks and staying in B&Bs...

We spent three nights in this B&B in September 2016 and cannot rate it highly enough. The room was a reasonable size with plenty of storage and a nice clean shower room, breakfast was exactly as described on the website and enough to keep you going - even if it hadn't been, for the price you could factor in buying...

Stayed for a couple nights, great staff, quiet spot, nice place and great location!! The manager speaks perfect English. There is no reception so you are on your own for the most part except for the mornings for breakfast. Highly recommended for families and couples.

Staying in San Marco

Neighbourhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
